I haven't had a chance to do a lot with it but the kit comes with all the basics you need and seems well made and thought out. I had it up and running quickly following the instruction video the docs linked to.

Perfect kit for your first Raspberry Pi. Has everything you need including a cooling fan. Really easy to setup and use. The WiFi works great. While I wouldn’t bang it around, the case it comes in is pretty sturdy and is perfect if you need to bring it somewhere. All you need is a keyboard, mouse, and monitor (I’ve even used tvs with HDMI ports) and you’re good to go. Really great way to experience all that Linux and Rapberry Pi has to offer!

Everything fit nicely and booting was as simple as advertised. This is a perfect little throw away device.

This is a pretty cool kit. I really liked the fan and heatsink included.Couple things I would change as it’s something marketed toward beginners though.For starters, I didn’t realize there was a micro sd slot on the bottom of the Pi (or even to look for it) I was plugging it into the usb adapter and then plugging the usb into the Pi. Call me stupid— but i genuinely didn’t know.Spent a couple hours trying to get it to boot. In that scenario it would post but wouldn’t load the GUI so it was super misleading.Eventually I just installed the OS on a USB and posted it that way until I cloned it over onto an NVME. I think a really easy fix would be to just add a little placard labeling each part of the Pi— maybe some arrows connecting the parts. Etc.Second issue I had was, as a starter kit, I didn’t like that you get a little bottlenecked by the case right off the bat. I feel like the starter kit should include a case the leaves room for growth. But that’s just my opinion.Overall though, i love it. Hosting websites and databases for personal use from it. Works like a champ. Stays impressively cool too with that fan.

This is the best kit I've ever gotten for a Raspberry Pi. The only downside might be that one of the monitor cables included was dead, but they give you two, so it was a non-issue. That aside, it was packaged neatly, easy to assemble, and so easy to work with. If there was something you need, they thought of it. Down to the little micro-SD to USB adapter.

This PI5 turns out to be very useful for multiple projects I got it for. One of the uses was a replacement to an huge PC that broadcasts streaming music throughout my property. Not only did it help with my electric bill, it fixed a buzzing sound over the air. The casing is protective and a sharp looking box but small enough to hide easily. And it's amazingly quiet.

I've been working with the Pico W and MicroPython. I wanted to compare the C++ builds. I set up a desktop Linux box and was successful but debugging is easier with the three pin interface. You can use another Pico but the Pi makes it an all-in-one.I'd looked at the Pi 5 kits before and CanaKit was well spoken of. When I saw it discounted during the Prime days I pulled the trigger. Assembly was simple and well covered with a video on the CanaKit site. Everything needed for most people is included. There are two micoHDMI cables but since I use a KVM switch between several computers I needed a female to female HDMI adapter .Setup was simple with the included Raspberry Pi OS microSSD. After a system update I installed VS Code and the recommended extension, built the blink program, and transferred it to the Pico. I currently use several different Linux distros. The RPi OS is based on Debian so it was very straight forward. Chrome and Firefox are included and you select one during the setup. I went with Chrome. Both the browsing experience and the compile/run times for the Pico example program felt no different than on an x64 Linux box. I'm sure the device can be loaded down but for my purposes it is entirely adequate.
