Worked as advertised for me
Worked for me. My unscreened pool kept going yellow. Put this stuff in it, water clouded for a day or so, then all the dead phosphates turned to white powder on the bottom of the pool. Got a phosphate test kit, and it is showing 0 phosphates. Iâve used other products in the past, but never gotten the level that low. Pool has stayed blue for a while now. I would use it again.

Best phosphate killer period
I have had an ongoing problem with black algae for years now. Algae eats phosphates so, if you can get rid of your phosphates, you have solved your problem. Last year, I had a phosphate level of over 2500 PPM and the only solution that I could find was a product called Phos-Free from Leslie's. It was expensive and it required that you clean your filter before application to the pool, then let the filter run for 48 straight hours, and then clean the filter AGAIN, which was a giant hassle to say the least, as I have a cartridge filter that takes 45 minutes to clean in the blazing sun. This got my phosphates down to around 800 PPM, which somewhat mitigated the problem without completely solving it. (Note: I really like Leslie's and appreciate that they have a store near me with water testing and I will continue to buy all of my other chemicals and tabs from them, which are great.)I just didn't want to deal with the Phos-Free process this year and tried Orenda out of laziness/desperation. It really works like magic. I poured 4 ounces in my 16,000 gallon pool and the water immediately clouded and stayed that way for an hour or so. I use it in conjunction with Leslie's Perfect weekly now. I have poured in 4 ounces three times so far this summer. My last phosphate level was 85 PPM. No black algae. Fantastic product!

Great product, a little pricey..
This product is the real deal does everything it's suppose to. Just make sure your pool is not green before adding try to have the chemicals balanced. If you keep adding chlorine and keeps disapeering check your stabilizer level. Use this product as regular maintenance for your pool don't over do it. 3oz for my pool 14k gallons, when i need to clean it up.1.5oz as maintenance. I usually do it at night pump is off. Once a month or just depends, my pool is exposed to everything. Good luck

Careful if you have a D.E. Filter and high phosphate (>1000)
Instructions on the bottle don't warn you not to dose above the 500ppm dosage if you have a DE filter. That is only listed on the product website. I had unusually high phosphate (>1000ppm) upon opening the pool this year and applied the product at the suggested maximum rate on the bottle of 8oz/10,000 gallons. It did lower the phosphate numbers, but it completely clogged the filter in the process...to the point of crushing my pressure side cleaner filter as the only path for the water to return. I had to backwash the filter 3 times in 24 hours (pump only ran for 14 hours). This isn't a knock on the product, it definitely does the job. Just make sure you have plenty of DE powder on hand and keep a close eye on the filter pressure!

Works well, good price
So I have always been of the philosophy that you don't worry about phosphates and just keep your chlorine level up. SLAM, this worked great for me for about 2 years. Unfortunately we got a LOT of rain and I lost my chlorine level and my pool turned a beautiful deep dark green in 1 day. I had 2500 phosphate readings. Once I got my chemicals back I decided to zero my phosphates. Now, if I am low on chlorine and get some rain I no longer get an alge bloom. I keep my phosphate levels below 100 and it is very easy to do so. Maybe 1-2 ounces every other week or so.
