Amazing book.
Amazing book... It is one of the most inspiring book i have ever read... it portrays her life and how she fought against the society on her own and how she helps the victims of Female Genital Mutilation. 😊

Very inspiring and educational
Very inspiring and educational, not just on the subject of FGM, but on the subject life, it's trials and many marathons. I truly admire Waris and her drive for survival, and for allowing herself to become open and vulnerable to bring awareness and to assist others .

Well worth read!
This book really opens your eyes to the brutality of female circumcision. It is a hard read but well worth leaning of the horrific torture young girls go through because of tribal ceremonies. It definitely needs to be stopped. The author is outstanding in her quest to bring this story to help end this terrible practice.

From nomad girl to super model
I was impressed by the honesty and authenticity of the author telling her story, matching the courage in managing her life with the courage to talk openly about it. What it took for her to leave behind her nomadic family in the desert of Somalia and move to London, finding and fighting her way against all odds and obstacles. The cruelty of female genetical mutilation became clear to me like never before, and the urgency to overcome this still widespread practice, but also the difficulty of overcoming it against entrenched traditions and advantages for the men selling their underage daughters into marriages with older men. Plus the insider description of the fashion world and their glamourous models.
