For value and cost reasons, if you shoot in low ISO and need large prints, the a7R II is far friendlier on the wallet. Having 12 MP on a Full Frame may seem silly, but it will probably give the best high ISO images you cannot get on a camera with smaller sensor.

Does this camera include a warranty from Sony?

I have had my camera since 2016 and while I love it especially for video, I am so disappointed with their service...there is none! I have spent days online trying to find a repair centre in Ireland or Europe. I eventually found someone today but it will take up to six weeks and could cost anything between €300 and €600. The control dials have stopped working. I was not in any humid conditions and I can't see how this has happened. I am a lens based media artist and I need this for my work. I was considering buying a second Sony mark ii camera or a mark iii but I don't think that I am comfortable with this now. Such a shame that the service is non-existent. As I have had Nikon cameras without issue for over 20 years. Sony you have to play fair and reach out to your loyal customers and support them, otherwise you will not earn their respect and they will leave. I have made some great work with my Sony, but at that price I expected it to last a lot longer than 2 and a half years. I spent $4200 on the camera with a Sony lens and batteries at B&H in 2016.

How smooth/fast is the auto focus on video? is it comparable to canon's dual pixel af?

In my experience, Sony's service after the sale is atrocious. Unlike Canon and Nikon who have their own in-house service department, Sony farms out their service to Precision Camera, a 3rd party company. Precision Camera initially refused to fix my camera and wouldn't even give me a price for repair. A manager named Mia told me to sell my camera on eBay for parts! Unacceptable. Then they completely broke my camera and Sony determined that their action was ok. Now I'm stuck with a very expensive brick. Others have had a similar experience, not just in the US but also overseas. In hindsight, I'd much rather have a working Canon than a dead Sony.
