Can't give this USB-C Multiport AV Adapter less than 5 stars. Had a Samsung Galaxy S8 that finally bit the dust when I dropped it for the umpteenth time (that phone was seriously durable). The display no longer worked correctly and the screen was completely unresponsive to touch. Thought I might be able to install a new screen, but found out the pin connector was broken, too. I was planning to replace the phone in the future anyway; however, was not prepared for the sudden damage and hadn't backed up anything for some time.Enter in this little lifesaver. I connected the multiport AV adapter to my phone, then connected the device to my TV via HDMI cable, and finally plugged in a USB adapter for a wireless mouse. I was able to view the phone's screen on the TV with no issues, while using the mouse to simulate tapping and swiping. Thanks to this device, I backed up everything on the old phone and used Wi-Fi to migrate all of my data to my new phone.I do want to mention that using this with my (old) phone drained the battery very quickly. Also, I did try connecting to my laptop; however, the laptop never detected the Galaxy S8 was connected to it when plugged in via the device. I didn't delve into troubleshooting this too much since I didn't really need a phone-to-PC connection via this device.Overall, it is a great item that did exactly what I needed. Also, it's handy to have around and I've since used it to display videos, mobile games, and a presentation from my new phone to a TV.

The product works, yes, but the port is upside down. You should always be able to plug in a USB A cable when the logo is facing up. The way the ports are silkscreened on the body, the receptacle is the wrong way up. I would rather have spent $5 on a different brand to not have to deal with this needless annoyance. It's not even a shortcut in manufacturing that saves the factory any money.

I purchased this adapter primarily to connect my 10th Gen Ipad to a Yamaha Arranger Keyboard. In addition I wanted to use one of the USB ports for simutaneously charging the Ipad. For charging, I used a USB 2.0 to USBC cable. This setup works flawlessly! Also, I like having the option of using the HDMI out as a connection to either a display or projector. And lastly, the price is right!
