Does the alta hr synch with iphone an vibrate and display calls?

Yes it does as long as you have your Bluetooth on. It will display and vibrate your calls and text messages.

Does it display text messages or vibrate when a txt is received

It comes set to display text messages AND vibrate when you get a text. However, set up is done on the fitbit app and you can turn off this feature. I turned off texts and "get up and move reminders" because the vibration is very close to painful for me. it almost feels like an electric shock to my wrist, and don't need a shock to my wrist when my iPhone already is making a text noise.
