Can the relative humidity be calibrated by the user?

Neither relative humidity nor temperature can be calibrated by the user. User's manual does not mention this possibility.

Can this item be sent in for re-calibration periodically, and updated certificate?

All the items have been calibrated before sending out, and if you need to calibate again, then you can send it to us for re-calibration, but it will cost a lot of time and shipping fee

Has anyone who bought this unit tested it for accuracy?

That I do not know. what I can say is that the temperature it shows is close to what the weather people say the temp.s are. I bought it because the local weather people have decided to no longer give the dew points in the forecast. I do know that the higher the dew point reading the device shows the more humid it feels. I also had issue with deciding to just give a date on the map as to when the "Monsoon season" starts and stops. The method of a dew point higher than 55degrees 3 days in a row for the start and below 55 degrees 3 days in a row for the end makes more sense.
