What are the star shaped bits for? Need to buy a set like this but not sure I'll need the strange shape star bits.

These are used in industry, automotive and manufacturing community as a replacement for what most call Allen head or socket cap screws. There is also a second generation Star screw that has a hole in the center, but those, they will work on both types of Star screws.
