How loud is the cooling fan??

The cooling fan is quite. The problem with this converter is if you ever pull on it hard it will smoke it. Mine did and 350$ went up in smoke. It was a 2000 watt and I am not sure what you are going g to load to it but...... . My word on it is you get what you pay for. I did pay 350 for the 2000 watt inverter I had ... I shoulda paid 750$ . The difference in circuitry on the 2 inverters was substantial.

Will this run a built in air mattress pump?

Yes no problem I use mine to camp and charge my drone battery’s
