GAMMA+Absolute Zero Mens Foil Shaver Collection

My two day stubble could sand a piece of wood. I’ve spent lots of money buying the so called ‘best’ shavers. They either won’t shave very close or the blades go dull quickly. I ran across this Gamma about two years ago. I Travel a lot so I thought I’d give it a try. It is by far the best electric shaver I’ve ever owned.I don’t use it every day, but I have used it a lot. It comes with an extra set of blades, but the original set is still as good as new, after two years! And check this out, the Gamma takes a little longer but it actually shaves closer than a four or five blade hand razor. Based on my 40 plus years of shaving, I’d say this is overall the best shaver on the market. Oh, it holds a charge forever.

This thing is AWESOME. Shaved my head as close as a wet blade. Beard to. No more wasted money on blades and irritation. Very pleased. Only drawback is the trimmer part that can be flipped up to use for trimming longer hairs. Not a good option. Hard trim. Pulls quite a bit. If you have longer hair use another trimmer first. That function needs improvement. But that to me is fine I never planned on using that. I have a regular trimmer I can use. I don't see many discussing its use to shave your head. If you do shave it bald this thing rocks. So easy. Long battery life charged fully in 15 min

I purchased this about 2 months ago, and gave it a little time before writing a review. I've been shaving with foil razers for most of my adult life, and I can honestly say that this is the best foil shaver I have ever used! So, why only 4 stars? The trimmer is terrible.I went looking for a new shaver to replace my Remington F4790. I found during my search that all the new Remington models use a pop-out trimmer, not the slide-up style on my F4790 or the Gamma+ Absolute Zero. Based on the excellent reviews and the slide-up trimmer, I purchased the Gamma+. I put new foils in my Remington, and for 4 weeks shaved one side of my face with the Remington and the other side with the Gamma+. I found the quality of the shave on each side to be about the same, but getting there with the Gamma+ took 2/3 of the time. Saving a third of the time, to get the same shave, every day? Sign me up!The only problem is with the trimmer. I use the slide-up trimmer on my neck, where I don't shave (I've found this to look fine and minimize ingrown hairs). The Gamma+ trimmer is useless. It's worse than those pop-out trimmers on the Remington models I was trying to avoid. It won't even cut my sideburns. As of now, I am using the trimmer on my R4790 to trim my neck hairs and touch up my sideburns, and shaving with the Gamma+. Since using two razors every day is a pain (and the Remington won't hold a charge, so I can only use it corded), this is only an interim option until I can find a solution in a single razor.If you don't need the trimmer, BUY THIS SHAVER. It is far and away the best I've tried for shaving. And, it's light-weight (lighter than my travel razor!) and powerful. It holds a long-lasting charge (probably aided by how quickly you get a great shave).If you need razor with a good trimmer, look elsewhere. Heck, if you need a razor with even a barely-functioning trimmer, look elsewhere.To Gamma+, I say... great job on the shaver, let's get that trimmer fixed in the next model.Update: So, the trimmer is very flawed. As well as not being very effective from the start, the design allows the powdery shavings from the shaver to fill the area where the trimmer snaps onto the shaver body. When my trimmer stopped working about 3 months in, I sent an email to Gamma+ Customer Service. They sent me a new snap-on trimmer (sans directions), and when I popped off the old one, I realized there was so much build-up that it lifted the trimmer away from the driver on the shaver body. So, if your trimmer stops working, pop it off (it just snaps in place) and clean it out, then snap it back on.

Made in China and it shows.The one and only Pro: The shape and angle of cutting head and screen are really good.The Cons: Cheap feel and looks, Rough shave and not very close. The shaver has low voltageand the RPMs are very low which I think is the reason for the rough and not so close shave.Also another reasons is the foil is way thicker than any other shaver Ive had.This might be good for people with a light and thin beard but for heavy and thick beards--not so good.Pay attention to the more negatives reviews because this thing is way over rated here and way over priced.

Works perfect…

I purchased this item because it has both a shaver and a trimmer and packs small.I tried using this for about a month since purchase on a beard thats about 3 to 4 days.The shaver is amazing. Gives a very clean and smooth shaver.The trimmer on the other hand just does not work properly. It trims very slowly, I have to run it over many times, I need to be very carful. I can only trim in one direction - downward. And hair gets stuck in it.I never use a razor. I have used the Braun series 5 shaver/trimmer for the past 6 years, and the trimmer on that one is way better than this one, never gets stuck, cuts quickly, could trim in both directions etc.It is quite possible that I may have received a defective unit. I want to like this product, but the trimmer just makes me sad.

The price point was really fantastic for this exceptional tool. Zero fades look great because it cuts so close and leaves no stubble. Seems almost closer than razor. Have used it on my face with the same results. It's boxed securely, came quickly and ready to use out of the box!! Charging the unit is quick and the battery lasts for a very long time. Since it arrived, I have charged it but once, normal use once or twice a day and received it 2 weeks ago. Definitely would buy again and have replaced most of my tools to gamma/SC products.

I thought I would test this thing out for a few months before I wrote a review. This saves me TONS of time in the morning before work compared to traditional razor shaves. I am buying my dad one for Father's Day. That being said, it's still working like the day I bought it, and I charge the battery every couple of weeks. Works great!!If you are thinking about buying this, know that this will leave longer hairs untrimmed BECAUSE it's meant to shave stubble and NOT a short beard.
