Fitted in easily, after I used sharp blade to get base of old eraser out of white plastic holder
Thanks for the info that I might need to coax remainder of old eraser out of the white holder (the holder stays in the pencil for fitting new eraser). I had worn the old eraser right down to the holder, so there was nothing to pull it out from. I used a Stanley blade to work the bit inside the holder out. New eraser fitted easily.Addition: The new eraser 'feels' a bit cheaper quality in use: a bit 'scratchier'; slightly harder work. But does the job and much nicer to click on to move the lead down than no eraser!

useful refill
This refill is relatively inexpensive and is certainly the best rubber available in a propelling pencil: a good size (lasting for months) and not going hard like those in disposable automatic pencils.
