As a vocalist I'm trying to implement a bit more percussion in my duo group. A song on Buckingham Nick's album called "Long Distance Winner" that we're covering, has this instrument. So much fun! One star off because the stick is a tad thin but works well enough on the body of the instrument.

Good organic sound, nice wooden feel
I like this guiro a lot. It's a little to quiet for a live setting, unless you have it mic'd up. Very good for recording studio use.

Larger than I expected.
Bought this for my 2 year old son. I was hoping this would be much smaller than it is. The sound is nice.
