Polycell 5207197 Polyfilla Tub for Wood General Repairs, 380 g, White

I was looking for some general wood filler, and came across the Polyfiller product. I generally rate Polyfiller products, so I thought this would be worth a go.Long story short, you get a reasonable amount which functions in a similar way to Polyfiller, but dries white. Once dry it can be sanded, painted, etc. In my view this is a user friendly product, its easy to use, dries well, and leaves a very good finish.I would highly recommend it.

I have used this product before, but from a tube. I needed more for the job in hand, so selected the tub version. Once i took the lid off, there was a plastic film covering the filler, which had all of the instructions on it. It told me to replace this film after each use. The film was covered with the filler, so i couldn't read anything. I put it under the cold water tap and discovered that the instructions were actually on paper and the paper was stuck to the film, hence the paper instructions completely disappeared down the drain! The next day, i tried to continue my repair but the filler had gone hard, because the rubbish film could not be reapplied. Product great, container rubbish!!!

Dries quickly, very easy to work when dry with files, sandpaper and curling tools. I se it for model making in dioramas.

I used this on a standard kitchen door, the sort of cheap door you'd find at B&Q. It was to get rid of of some scratches the dog had made on the door during training.I sanded the scratched area down, cleaned the area of dust, poly-filled it again with some excess to ensure cracks are filled. Gave it a day to dry, sanded it down again till it was all smooth and even, wiped down with a damp cloth to get rid of dust, then painted over it with the usual white satin wood paint from rest of house. Looks good as new.

Reasonable

I used it for my ceiling, I'm a diy and managed to do my first attempt at plastering. Add water little by little to help spread it.I struggled to get it perfectly smooth without lines but I'm going to sand it, looks good. Doesn't dry out like plaster.
