Excellent caliper for the money!!!
Best caliper I've ever bought for this price and then some, hands down! You panty-waste talkers need to stop talking trash and RTFM. If you have a defective unit (and it happens) contact the seller or manufacturer and work it out. If you just can't read or fathom reading instructions, then send it back and keep using your thumbs, toes, arms and feet. I grew up in a shop environment and am very familiar with these types of tools. This caliper hands down is as accurate and precise as advertised. Mine in particular is highly accurate as I used my precision blocks (which are perfect btw) and could NOT find a single flaw or off measurement. As GadgetClass and David Andrews amongst others have noted, I also tested "numerous" items top to bottom in the jaw and the accuracy is stunningly accurate! At this price you can't buy another brand caliper this accurate for the money anywhere I know of. I had a small box of 6" calipers (some more expensive than this one) that I just tossed out because this iGaging caliper is that good! I will certainly be buying more iGaging brand items if this is any indication of the quality and craftsmanship they offer. Unless you work for NASA and the like, this caliper will accurately measure anything you need it too. And I'd bet NASA has a good number of projects this will suit just perfectly fine as well. Mine goes back to "0" "EVERY" TIME! I don't have to slam it or repeatedly go back and forth to get it too zero out.The locking thumb screw is a plus and holds the precise measurement in place very well. The fit and finish are top shelf! Depth gauge is just as accurate along with the perfectly machined depth gauge base. If you can read and understand what you have here and how to use it, you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended for home and business shops. The perfect all-around caliper for high quality general precision work. As Mikey said, "Try it! You'll like it!" ;-)Move over Mitutoyo!!! There's a new kid on the block, ...and he's giving you some stiff competition for the money!

Great calipers. Get the absolute origin feature
I have been very been very happy with mine. I have 3 iGaging calipers that I keep in different places. The last model I got will show the measurement in fractions/decimal inches or decimal mm which I do like. If I were you I would get the version that does all 3.Definitely get the model that has absolute origin - all of mine do so I've never tried a caliper that doesn't but I would think that would be very annoying to have to zero it out each time.My buddy runs a high end calibration business (high end like he measures calibration of tools for a nuclear lab and a semiconductor company) and I brought them over to his calibration room and they were extremely accurate. He was impressed I was super happy. He had a Fowler caliper and Mitutoyo and as I recall the Mitutoyo bested the iGaging accuracy by some completely insignificant (for me and 99.99% of people) amount on one measure and the iGaging was exactly the same on several others.I bought the iGaging thinking this would be my cheap set that I would mostly use around the shop and that I would get a Mitutoyo as my precision set but after seeing the results I decided I had better things to spend $450 on so I never did buy a more expensive caliper. When you get down to that small of difference you are better to invest in some kind of way to take dust particles off the jaws (seriously - my friend did one measure and it was off a little more than it had been in another measure so he cleaned the jaws and bingo - it hit dead on).I wish they had an auto off feature. None of mine do. I can't tell if they have added this feature on the ones they are selling now. If they don't keep an extra battery at all times because you'll no doubt leave it on at some point and come back to a dead battery.

Finally! An accurate digital set of calipers at a good price.
What a search it has been, phew! I finally found a DIGITAL set of calipers at a reasonable price. The number of FAKE Mitutoyo calipers flooding Amazon and Ebay and FB Marketplace is dizzying and alarming. I found genuine Mitutoyos for $107 + shipping $15 but these were much less. So, why buy M when my need to measure is not scientific? I use these for DIY, jewelry, and fixing watches, sewing machines when I have to measure replacement parts. I love that I can switch from mm to decimal inches to fraction inches easily.Zero out at origin. There is also a stand you can set this upright, to lower the depth gauge and measure below the base. Very cool feature - check the sliding rod at the back. That is for depth gauge measuring. Comes in a nice box with new battery. Very very happy with this. My Nerdy neighbor has one too, and he recommended it. Buy with confidence.

Good, but needs improvement
Good middle ground between Mitutoyo and $20 cheap stuff. I have 1,5 problems with it so far.Minor nuisance is the box and foam inside. Box is flimsy, and the foam already dry rot. I expect they won't last, yet still holding.Main issue is the sliding wheel. The plastic piece it is attached to is of a wrong width, so when bolted to the caliper's body the wheel is at the angle to the sliding surface what causes wheels' teeth grind/bite on the sliding surface. Checked against my Mitutoyo - its wheel bearing piece is straight, wheel has little slop to accommodate the movement, no caliper body grinding. I tired to communicate the issue to the seller and provided images to highlight the problem - they just sent me the replacement with the very same issue. See attached.

Aviation Mechanic Here
With this tool I was able to get my job done better because it helped me locate the FTE & Winglet settings when I would install them onto the wing , with this tool alone I was able to accomplish being more detailed with my work , normally I’d have to get an inspector to come help me locate but this tool came with precise measurements, and the slide is smooth as well , the display is great , I love that this seller includes depth gauge . 10/10 would recommend to any aircraft mechanic
