Slightly Imperfect …
…Although I take great delight in many of Sala’s Compositions, Character development & stylizations of reality, The story development is often weak or even nonexistent ( ! )Many of his assemblages are rather sloppy constructed, which seems to derive from laziness, while his innate genius is subdued by tumbling thoughts of other adventures, all of which suggests a prevalent existence of benign schizophrenia that is our normal human stasis that is inescapable from even our most talented artists ( ? ) !

Sala is Amazing!
I cannot stop reading Richard Sala! I discovered him so late but now that I’ve started reading through his back catalog, I can’t stop. In a Glass Grotesquely is another amazing work! It mainly consists of the story of master villain, Super-Enigmatix, but also features three delightful shorter works as well. A must read for Sala fans.

Subversive graphic novel, Sala's "war on terror" reflection
This is an exceptional book by Richard Sala, one of his most subversive yet. The cast of characters features some of his most fully-realized creations, including arch supervillian Super-Enigmatix, journalist David who is nursing a broken heart, and another of Sala's powerful, take-no-prisoners heroines, Detective Charms. "Super-Enigmatix" also features some of Sala's most ingeniously funny dialogue. Highly recommended.

Genius; challenging, not light-hearted in any way, but genius.

A Fun Book
Richard Sala's works are not deep, nor are they intricately plotted, but they are fun, fast-paced tales filled with murders, the supernatural, secret societies, and faces of a horrific nature. No one has a regular job, but is either a cop, detective, mystic, murderer, thief, or super-criminal. There are four stories here, but the last three are just add-ons. The main story, "Super-Enigmatix" is about a super-criminal who wrecks havoc on society, just to be a jerk really. It's not deep, but its well drawn and fun.
