I’m assuming it works - but it is heavy!
I haven’t set it on fire to actually test it, so I’m assuming it works as advertised. Don’t plan on putting much in there though, and don’t plan on running wind-sprints with it either! I’d like a bigger one, but man this is heavy! My only gripe is the key, which you can’t remove unless it’s locked, which is annoying. It’s not like it’s burglar-proof either - you could probably open it with a screwdriver. We keep important papers in it, close to the front door, and keep one of the two keys zip-tied to the handle. If there’s a fire we’ll grab it on the way out. If we’re not home we only expect it to protect us against fire. If someone actually steals it we expect them to collapse from exhaustion before they get very far… a “feature”?

Very sturdy and heavy
I bought this as a Christmas present for an older Grandchild. He was thrilled with it. Told me it wasn’t something he would have thought of but will definitely put it to good use. Began telling me what he planned to put inside when he returned home. It turned out to be a great gift idea!

A classic bait and switch! Letter paper does not lie flat, but the description flat lies!
We ordered a Model 1103, as described above, because it claims to hold letter-sized paper flat. Honeywell, right? Reputable company, isn't it? The safe had over 1300 reviews, with a 4.5 overall rating! Wow! We just got it delivered today. Here are my immediate impressions. I strongly recommend reading them all before hitting that order button. The Good: This thing is built like a tank, and is remarkably heavy, but the outside and inside linings are almost entirely made of plastic. This is somehow not reassuring for fire resistance, but they claim it is. Should you trust them? Your decision. The latches seem very secure, and the lock would not be easily pried open. The bad: Here is the first head-scratcher: When we put our will in, it bent slightly at the edges. (See photo for visual evidence.) I measured it, and the interior depth is 8 3/8 inches, a good 1/8 in. narrower than standard paper. Any idiot would say it should be probably 1/8 in. wider than the paper, so it's 1/4 in. too narrow. Why, I ask myself, would anyone deliberately build a tank that isn't quite big enough to correctly hold what it was designed to hold? I can't come up with any logical reason whatsoever. It seems like a small thing. Sure, you can put the papers in with a slight bend, but that reduces the effective capacity, as well as forcing your valuable papers to assume a permanent bend.I went back and looked at the description on the Amazon page. It gives two different external dimensions: At the top (notice these are direct quotes): "Item Dimensions LxWxH 12.4 x 15.9 x 6.5 inches"In the About This Item section: "The exterior Dimensions are 6.6 in H x 16.0 in w x 12.6 in D"OK, they're close, but this doesn't bode well for the veracity of anything else on the page, does it?More deviously, the only internal dimensions EVER mentioned anywhere on the page are way at the bottom, in the "From the Manufacturer" section (again, direct quote from the page): "Interior Dimensions: 3.8"H x 14.8"W x 12"D " Cool, 12 inches is far wider than standard paper, right? Who would have noticed that this is for the 1104 model, not the 1103 that is being sold to us?THEN, I looked at reviews mentioning "paper lies flat", and found a stack of other Amazon reviews stating exactly the same thing, that the papers don't lie flat as claimed. Dumb me, I just trusted the star reviews on this one. I usually look at the comments. Never again will I not look at the comments.THEN, I read in the manual for our product that you have to open the safe for 30 minutes EVERY WEEK to let it air out, and they don't guarantee against interior moisture! I looked on the Amazon page again, and found more reviews about papers mildewing in the safe. Again, my bad for not reading this sooner. What the hell? How many people are going to put on their calendar every week to air out their document safe? Really? So, this really isn't a safe safe, after all, is it? You're trusting your most valuable, one of a kind documents to a box that can't even keep out moisture? What the hell, Honeywell? You are lying through your teeth, selling us an undersized and poorly designed product. Since it is the Honeywell store selling it, the company clearly was aware. So, don't say you weren't warned. I'm shipping this 27 pound piece of misadvertising back.

Good but heavy
I bought this safe because it was the larger version of the Eiko 2013 safe I have. I have not thrown it into water or taken a blow torch to it to test the claims so I assume it lives up to the hype but fair warning ; it is HEAVY. I like that it's portable but its a beast

it's heavy, but then what did you expect?
Heavy duty build... heavy to move, so plan accordingly. Nervous about the handle staying on when moving, but so far has performed as expected.
