I love this series! I've read 3 of them so far.

While my husband likes to know about military history, he's not much of a reader. I bought this for him for Xmas and he is enjoying it very much. The size of the chapters are just right, you can finish one or two and then stop. It's easy to pick it up where you left off the next day. The descriptions are intriguing and pull you into the story and sequence of events. A good read on a snowy day. (I have also begun to read it and we are both looking forward to Vol 4 - 6.)

The personal stories were very interesting. I am a Vietnam veteran I would like to have something on this scale for others to read.

I thoroughly enjoyed the thoughtful, “first person” narrative style of these books. My 94 year old father is a 3 war, Navy pilot veteran, and the recollections of these young men growing up, and volunteering for their country, resonates deeply. Mr Rozell is about my age, and I appreciate the time and effort to collect these oral histories before these men are all gone. I would hope that high school teachers of today would embrace these books, as a vehicle to illustrate to their students the sacrifice and devotion of a nation, which had little, but gave all. Television and movies may capture the imagination of a romantic, adventurous version of war, but these plain spoken veterans acknowledge the truth of the horror and loss of warfare. My sincere thanks to Matthew Rozell for his efforts.
