Q: Does water from a fridge with a filter qualify as filtered water to rinse the grains with?

I rinse them everyday with tap water and they're growing at 8-10% daily. I think it's better to use water at ambient temperature rather than cold water coming from the fridge.

Q: Why are these so expensive?

I don’t know why vendors charge so much but I do know there’s difference. This vendor sent us exactly what we wanted, grains that produce thick creamy kefir and doesn’t produce a lot of grains. Others I used produced mostly grains and runny, thin kefir. I will keep this batch alive and well for as long as I can - so far 6 months. There’s little reason for it to not last generations.

Q: Would these grains work with a plant milk like, coconut milk? Thank you.

Hello, Yes, they should work with coconut milk. However, you must ensure that the grains are put back into dairy milk at least once in every 3 brews otherwise they will perish. They feed from from lactose.
