best phone i ever had
Tried the Honor Magic 7 Pro and hated every second of it, camera was horrible. Pixel was my second choice as I had that before. I came across reviews of the OP13 and seen some picture comparisons on videos, and I had an OP5T way back, which was my most reliable phone after the Nexus 6. After the Pixel 6 Pro I had some high expectations for the camera. This phone is an absolute monster, battery goes full day with screen on, watching videos, taking photos, you name it. OS is less bloated than the competition, maybe only Pixels have less junk, but the OP apps are actually useful, although I generally disable everything. It has gemini, which I hate (but you can disable it) and I switched to ChatGPT for the assistant, works perfectly well. Has the usual AI features, nothing special there.Games go really well on it.The camera is the piece de resistance. It's the best phone camera on the market, hands down. It goes from 1-6x zoom with 6 and above being AI assisted, you can go 120x digital. It has remarkable AI autocorrect for high zoom. But from 1-3 telephoto, it takes pictures that I could confuse with ones taken with an actual camera. The contrast, highlights, lowlights, amazing. The only weakness of it is low light, mostly dusk.Buy it.

The first truly complete feeling OnePlus phone
OnePlus 13 16GB RAM, 512GB Storage (Black Elipse) - ReviewThis is a 5-month review of the OnePlus 13, I picked it up on a launch deal that included the upgraded storage & Watch 2R for free. I've used the phone every day since, and here's my review.I've owned many OnePlus phones in the past (Came from a 9 Pro), and I liked what they provided for the price point. Over the last few years, I felt OnePlus were losing its roots. However, this year, with the OnePlus 13, a bit of that spark has returned. The OP13 is the typical OnePlus recipe. It’s got the latest Snapdragon process that is fast, a clean user interface that is ridiculously quick & one of the best battery experiences you can get on a phone. However, where OnePlus cut corners before to keep the price down, OnePlus hasn’t cut any corners here. This phone feels like a true flagship in every aspect. While the 13 is a lot more expensive than older OnePlus's previous devices for what it offers, I think it is great value especially when compared to other competition products, the main being the S25 Ultra, the OP13 comes out to around £500 cheaper, which is crazy to think, as overall I feel the OnePlus is the better phone.Let’s start with the new quirks, sadly, there is no charging brick included in the box. I think this is an EU problem rather than a OnePlus one, so I cannot bash them for it. If you’d like to purchase the required charging brick, it’ll set you back £60. I just used my old Warp Charge 65 from my OnePlus 9 Pro. I did test the charging speeds with this charger on the 13. It took 35 mins to charge from 0-100%. So still very fast.Oxygen OS isn’t as good as it was in its glory days. It has a few more bugs than before, and it is a little more bloated. But the identity of OOS is still present. The UI is intuitive, super smooth & has some nice features. OnePlus are committed to 4 years of updates only on this device, which is the only real con I have for it, along with the software. Samsung is industry-leading with this, so it would be nice to see OnePlus increase this in the future. The design of the OnePlus 13 is classy but doesn’t wow you. I guess most phones don’t nowadays. The OP13 has IP69, so it is durable against water & dust. I haven’t tested this, but it’s nice for peace of mind. It’s crazy to think OnePlus went from having no waterproofing to being at the bleeding edge in this field.I’ve listed below a few key areas & my thoughts on the phone's main areas below;- S tier display: Insanely bright, very responsive & smooth. Has some cool, unique features like Aqua Touch, too. The display is almost flat now, too, which helps with durability.- A+ tier camera: Versatile setup. The resolution and dynamic range are much improved from my OP9 Pro. The biggest improvement is with the Zoom camera; it’s so good, even up to 50x+, you can get clear pictures. Great processing. The letdown for the camera system is the video. It can’t compete with the iPhone.- A+ tier Loud & clear stereo speakers: The speakers on this phone are a big improvement from my 9 Pro. They have so much more depth, the bass can be heard. It’s quite surprising the loud quality that can come out of a phone.- A+ tier Haptics: OnePlus have had a top-tier haptic implementation for years now. This phone is no exception. I think Google may have the slight edge, but this is still excellent.- S-tier battery: Massive battery in combination with rapid wireless/wired charging speeds gives the phone an incredible battery experience. I can get 10hrs screen on time (running at 1440p 120Hz). To charge back up, it barely takes 30 mins. After you experience fast charging, it’s so hard to go to something that lacks it (My main gripe with iPhone & Samsung phones)- S-tier fingerprint sensor: OnePlus moved to an ultrasonic for the 13. The placement is miles better than on my 9 Pro, and the reliability is improved from the older optical ones. It’s a lot easier to use at night, as it doesn’t need a bright light to scan.In conclusion, I think the OnePlus 13 isn’t just a great OnePlus phone, but it’s a great phone full stop. This phone is a contender for best overall phone this year, regardless of price. If you are on the edge of trying a OnePlus, I think the OnePlus 13 is a great one to try, especially if you can pick it up on a discount, as the value proposition gets even better. If your priorities in a phone are display, performance & battery. This phone provides the best of the best.

Excellent but with annoying quirks
The battery is good, display is nice , factory installed screen protector, but balanced in hand feels strange the 120 x zoom is really good (but AI and softening is clearly used here.....)the ram management is really good........the IR remote blaster is a bonus and great.Mostly bug and lag free but the AI constantly fails I have had issues with it 9 times out of 10 it never works "failed try again later" is worse than a nagging notification" (not a network issue either) I just gave up attempts eventually to use it.also the back feels like plastic (very plasticky) and has a very very unwieldy feeling like silk that's just difficult to hold and doesn't feel premium for what I pay for.The speakers have a warm bass and its often not the case with phones but be warned it looses depth and quality pretty quick and almost instantly at a higher volume (40+) and distorts any thing past half waythe camera ring is too big to be placed to the left (off centre) it doesn't fit right with me.a strange choice to be a circle and placed off set to the left I feel like I want to move it to the centre.Such a shame I wanted to like this (its not a bad phone at all) but I would be keeping this for a while and I know I wouldn't be really happy with the quirks and feel, poor speakers at anything above 40% and the camera in very low light or night is not very good most of the time out of out of 10 shots 7 will be quite poorbattery life is great like I say but its not the main thing I look for in a phone I need decent sounding speakers they only sound good round about 30-40 meh.and I will add this phone has the ability to charge really fast but not with a standard charger that most of us already own but only with an original charger and it doesn't include onewhat aggravates me is I couldn't even purchase one from one plus web site trying daily out of stock for the time I owned the phone.and its £59 to add insult to injury the knock off ones on amazon that claim to do the same DONT! I ordered one and it was totally fake so I returned it as stated 7 hours charge time.so the manufactures claiming e-waste is the reason they are not included is nonsense the only e- waste is the amount of fake chargers being sold that definitely end up in the bin! or land fils' omitting chargers from the box forces people to just go out and buy rubbish ones this causes vastly more e-waste!!!
