Good looking, old-school, Italian coffee machine
This is exactly what I wanted: a traditional, no-gimmick, no fancy lights or displays, Italian coffee machine. This ticks all the boxes for me. I love the fact that it's manual and I can tweak my coffee to my liking and it looks so good! I would recommend it for lovers of Italian coffee who are already familiar, or want to learn, how to make espresso the traditional way. There is also a filter for pods but I've never used it. Bought it with the SMEG grinder and the pair look and perform wonderfully.

Coffee well done
Like this coffee machine very much as its easy to use , previously had another type of machine which used plastic pods which were not recyclable so having the Smeg coffee maker saves using plastic and gives a lovely cup of coffee every time, and the coffee grouts are good for my garden

Absolutely terrible. Do not buy.
The worst coffee machine ever. Once you figure out how to stop the buttons flashing we have never managed to slide the espresso handle in first time. It’s beyond stiff. And by the time you get it in with both hands you have hit the buttons by accident. Terrible terrible terrible. Shocked by Smeg. I bought your juicer recently and it was as terrible.

Had to send back, unimpressed
I had high hopes for this but really unimpressed , for the price (nearly £300) was expecting a lot more , it made mediocre coffee and took ages to heat/froth the milk , really expected more from this brand , sent it back and ordered a Delonghi , which was exactly the same machine but in different casing and nearly £150 less !!!!

Love it
I’m really happy with this! I’m the only person in my household that drinks coffee so it’s great for one cup. I use the double espresso setting and add steamed milk to make a latte. I find that you can’t really compress the coffee grounds or it doesn’t work, you have to very lightly press them into the holder. It looks really nice in my kitchen without taking up much room. I wipe it down daily but occasionally put the removable parts through the dishwasher.
