Legion Go + eGPU, works 90% of the time
I use this egpu with my legion go and my MacBook. Legion go works great after some tinkering. Need to sideload drivers for both integrated and external gpus. 780m for integrated Z1E and standard 7800m for egpu. Worked intermittently at first. I thought it was the USB cable, I was over heating due to a bug. Had to turn off turbo boost on the CPU after editing the windows registry. Works great after that. Im using amds software now because of the driver changes and everything is stable. Thinking about ordering an occulink to m.2 adapter and installing it with a custom back plate and booting via USB.MacBook. This will not work with M series macs. Intel macs will work under Windows via bootcamp. Not macOS. Macs will work with RDNA 2 egpus but support never got made for RDNA 3, I suspect that as Apple moved to their own chips they wouldn't upgrade support for intels chips. So windows only here.Overall. With frame Gen and upscaling, PoE2 med settings. 60-100 game world VS town. Black ops 6 - 165 stable med-settings.I got rid of my desktop and strictly use my Legion Go as a hand held and dock it for desktop use when I get home. I get less performance on the gpu bjt the CPU speed and ram made it worth it. The convenience of having my "desktop" with me is worth it, especially when my getting close to desktop performance when I get home.

Performs as indicated
I ordered this because my NUC's integrated graphics had 2 issues: 1 - the heat it generated was ridiculous, which kept the fan @100% and was way too noisy. 2 - Photoshop no longer supported it.I've had this since May '24 and it's performing well. The port options have given me what I need to run a 32" 4K monitor via DP, and a 16" 4K USB C portable display - which I use via HDMI with the NUC. I also installed a SP 4TB NVME which I use for video editing files with no issues. I also travel with the ONEX and the NUC.I don't do any gaming so I cannot attest to those capabilities. My NUC runs way better by offloading the graphics to the ONEX and Photoshop is happy too. And video editing is happier too.I also enjoy the magnetic NVME door to be able to remove the 4TB stick easily and put in my Sabrent M.2 enclosure for portable storage on the go.I know it may be hard to justify the expense to some, but it's given me a lot of flexibility in how I use my system. My only wish is that instead of having 2 USB A ports, it had a USB C PD port replacing one of the A ports. Oh, and that the power plug was straight out instead of right angle. There's no reason to be right angle when all of the other cables go straight out. I have accidentally popped the plug out several times when moving it due to the right angle plug getting caught on the monitor stand.

First REAL review on here, it’s awful for Ally X
TLDR: This isn’t anywhere near the wonder device the company tries to promote it as and customer support is non existent.I bought this to use with my ROG ALLY X. I was under the impression I had to do a driver update to get this to work, how wrong I was. You have to manually install a driver, which still isn’t the issue. The problem is the driver you install has to be manually updated every single time and WILL be written over by windows updates and you’ll have to manually install it again! This is no where near the relm of a “plug-and-play” device, at least for a ROG Ally X. As far as customer support? You get a link to a YouTube video and a number in China you have pay to call. Totally unacceptable for a product in this price range.

Great portable eGPU for your handheld
This is a fairly small eGPU featuring the Radeon XT7600M and is probably best used with a handheld device or non-gaming laptop (example Legion Go, ROG Ally, Steamdeck, etc).It provides a nice boost to FPS in most games I tested. It had a little better performance when using an external monitor as opposed to my Legion Go's built in screen. The biggest downside for this is the size of the power supply, it is massive, almost half the size of the actual eGPU. Since I bought this for portability it was definitely a drawback. I was able to find a third-party power supply that was about half the size of the included one.Given the power requirements, I don't believe you would be able to power it from an external power bank. So while it is small and easily portable, you are still tied to an outlet. I haven't had any issues powering it from an airplane outlet (or the lounge beforehand), so it is still definitely great for travelling, but there are limitations. With the price it really only makes sense for certain use cases. If you are remaining stationary there are more powerful options, but this excels as an easily portable eGPU if you are a frequent traveller. Very easy to setup in most hotel rooms. It provides a nice performance boost to your gaming if it meets your use case.

Understand the hoops of an EGPU - USB4 cables and Oculink cables that work.
I originally ordered one and it worked initially but after attempting an Oculink connection it failed to boot. I was able to use another EGPU to get the Oculink to work on the um780 XTX I had this connected to, and borrowed another OneXGPU and GPD One and got those to work. I got a lemon. I found the included cable is trash, and after using a Razer brand active thunderbolt cable my initial problems vanished, but the lemon didn't power on with that. Le Sad. So the take away is know the problems of getting the drivers to work and detected properly, but also making sure the cables work correctly. I had to use 4 oculink cables before I found the right one, a little ironic because they all worked on the JMT EGPU stand I own. I'm disappointed mine didn't work after the initial powering on, but using borrowed EGPUs I can say the one I got was a lemon. The only real downside is the problem of the epgu frying itself due to the fans being controlled by the USB4, so that's a definite knock on a star. They need to make sure the fan is controlled independently of the USB4, as users can easily fry it without knowing.
