Jack Reeves (age 7) review
It is a very good animated film. The characters were believable and I liked especially the ghost of Sarah Ravencroft because it was a tiny bit silly. The music was excellent and I liked the song of the Hex girls. The tunes were really, really musical.

A fake, a real, a witch!
Absolutely brillant video featuring all the Scooby Doo cast, no Scrappy Doo (*phew*), a slightly over the top New England horror writer (think Stephen King in a "smart casual" suit doing Tim Curry impressions ... or similar), a fake ghost (as usual) and mystery.Add to this a real ghost of a real witch, some wiccans (though the background research done on this seems to be a bit iffy!), a teen rock group akin to the Gogos ... though with a gogothic twist ... and you have a winner.Superb animation with a lot learned from Asian masters to boot! For me the best Scooby ever!

Best of the "All New" Scooby Doo movies
I was a Scooby Doo fan as a kid in the 70's, rushing home from school to see the Gang fight weird and wonderful monsters ,unmask them and expose them as the charlatans and crooks they really were. But my interest in the series flagged as the monsters always turned out to be fake, never real, and with the introduction of Scrappy Doo (why ?), the cartoons became increasingly plotless and banal with lots of pointless monster chasing and mindless slapstick replacing the humour and depth of the earlier episodes. However in the late 90's ,the "All New Scooby Doo" series brought the cartoon right up to date with the introduction of rock soundtracks, hi-tech gadgets and a hairstyle and clothes makeover for the re-formed original gang , with Scrappy Doo thankfully having been "hounded" out.The "Witch's Ghost" is probably the best of the "All New" movies. Like "Zombie Island" , at last we see ghosts and monsters which are real and beyond rational explanation. "Witch's Ghost" is perfect Scooby Doo- it has a multi-layered storyline , with several clever twists, detailed characters, a lot of humour and seriously scary monsters. We meet the engaging Hex Girls, the sinister Ben Ravenscroft and witness perhaps the most outrageous display of bad table manners ever seen in a children's cartoon as Shaggy and Scooby pig out in a New England restaurant. This is an exciting "Scooby Doo" cartoon, which will entertain adults also, but it might scare some younger children, especially when the monsters and ghosts turn out to be real and if you don't want to explain what Wicca is to your curious offspring then this is probably not the movie for you.

THIS IS NOT suitable for very young children
How did this ever get a 'U' certificate, what are Hannah Barbera thinkingabout by using this story line? I am not reviewing this video from anymoral high ground but from the perspective of a parent whose son was, unsurprisingly, frightened by it.I bought this video for my son aged 5 who is an avid Scooby fan. I wasextremely disappointed and angry with the content of the video. It starts out just fine - the 'ghouls' being the usual round of locals incostumes and nothing supernatural has actually occured. However, having unmasked the culprits the video sets off on another tackand moves into the world of the supernatural. It turns out that BenRavencroft, the Tim Curry character, is really a baddy and then sets abutraising a witch from the dead who is trapped inside a spell book - allrather smacks of "The Evil Dead".The evil spirit having been released starts carrying out evil spells - notthe usual Scooby Doo make believe hocus pocus but real spells - genuineevil. The witch brings pumpkins to life which chase people - sounds tame but itsnot tame to a 5 year old who has rumbled that this isn't actually makebelieve anymore. Trees come to life trapping people with their rootswhich grow out of the ground and wrap around the victims legs etc - againa bit too close to the plot of the Evil Dead. Finally one of the 'good' characters who turns out to be 1/16th wicken(white witch) is able to read a spell from the book and send the evilwitch back into the book - she drags Ben Ravencroft in with her into thebook trapping him for eternity, somehow the book is then burnt thuskilling them both - again lifted from "The Evil Dead"?Nice story guys. What were you thinking about?? It is a sad state ofaffairs when this kind of material finds its way into U certificate films. It should not be necessary for parents to have to screen a U video tocheck that it does not contain graphic and potentially very frighteningscenes of REAL witchcraft and black magic.U certificate - suitable for all. Obviously not the case any more. Taking elements of the plot of a very controversial horror film, animatingthem and slipping them into a childrens cartoon is just not right.Question is how many more of these Scooby films are unsuitable?
