We are particular about our assortment of knives that are varying brands. This block was just the right size and the slot sizes are big to small. It handles our chef knife, bread slicer and more. We do not use the lower slots for steak knives but for a few different paring knifes. The wood finish is lustrous. You will not be disappointed. I was very picky about the size and number of slots and this is just right. We have used a several different types of knife storage over the years and we are enjoying the ease of use. Also, if you have cabinets that are lower, the angle of this block allows you to pull out the larger knives easily.

I just bought my first house and my boyfriend and I combined all of our belongings. I'm frugal by nature, so I wasnt going to throw away perfectly good knives, even though they weren't the most aesthetic.I do enjoy things looking pretty, so I spent a decent chunk of time finding a universal knife block that would work.This one is a solid A.I'm able to fit a cleaver, 2 santokus, serrated, chefs, utility, and some bone/pairing knifes. The bottom section fits 8 steak knifes perfect. The blade sharpener slides right in.Cons: Be mindful when moving. The blade sharpener hole goes all the way through the bottom. If you aren't mindful when moving the knife block, this can scratch up your counters. I wish they had closed off the hole.There isn't a designated scissor section. I may look into a magnetic strip to put behind the block for the scissors. They technically "fit" but it's poor, the hole isn't quite wide enough for the plastic.Overall I'm really pleased and would reccommend. Great price. Thanks!-sara

I received a new Shun chef's knife and a lovely set of steak knives for Christmas-no room at the inn with my old block for the Shun and the steak knives didn't fit in the old steak knife block. I wanted one that they all would fit in and minimize the counter room. This is a great block quality wise, and the finish is lovely-plenty of room for all. I gave 4 instead of 5 stars as it is listed as Acacia wood and that was the color I expected-it is actually Walnut stain and the Acacia I expected would have fit my decor better-but a very good product.

I have knives from multiple sets and hate that they don't always fit in our current block. The Cook N Home acacia wood block does a great job at holding all of my knives, even the larger chef and santoku knives. The wood has a really nice darkish stain that matches our maple cabinets well and there are plenty of different sized slots for everything from a cleaver to steak and pairing knives. Well made and attractive, Cook N Home designed and built a functional and environmentally friendly knife block that will look amazing in any kitchen.

All my knives fit neatly in this new Wooden knife holder. And it looks good on the kitchen counter and all my knives, including my steak knives are available.
