This makes the top of the ladder way too heavy. Which makes it difficult to maneuver and carry. Destroys the advantage of a light weight aluminum ladder. I took too long before I attached, and started to use it, so Im beyond return. I guess Ill live with it for now... next time, something way less heavy.

This is a solid enough Stabilizer attachment for an extension ladder. But given that it is designed to be universally attachable to most extension ladders, that means there is a bit of an issue when you attach the stabilizer, at least to the extension ladder I use. Specifically, it is NOT easy to get each of the two (2) stabilizer pieces/velcro straps securely strapped onto the end of your ladder. I suggest you consider having the help of another person to assist in dealing with the "strapping" pieces while your ladder is flat on the ground.
