Q: What is the distance between center to center for the mounting slots?

On the 3900-0183 3" vise the mounting slots are 4.08" apart, center to center. The slots are 2.32" long and .55" wide.

Q: What is the exact width of the gap between the jaws when the 3" vise is fully closed? Can it clamp something 3/16" thick?

It has a stepped jaw, so the bottom of the jaw closes tight. The step measures .177 wide when it is fully closed and .980 deep. Full height of the Jaw from the top to the bars is 1.650.

Q: Is this 4" model the same product with the same specifications as a Palmgren 12321? Please refrain from I don't knows, let someone answer that knows

Our 3900-0184 is a quick action style vise. This is a 4 inch version, similar to the Palmgren style. The Palmgren QV30/SKU#9612321 is a 3 inch quick action vise. Jaw width is 3";jaw opening is 3 inches; the throat depth is 1 inch according to the Palmgren website. Our 3900-0183 3 inch quick slide vise is similar. Jaw width 3"; jaw opening 3.5"; jaw depth 1-1/4. Thank you

Q: can anyone tell me if the jaws are removable?? i have purchased this same cam action vise from a different brand, but can not remove the screws.

This product arrived earlier today, the jaws are removable with a 5mm allen wrench. A stubby 5mm is recommended so not to scratch the cams. There is a top and a bottom, approx. 17.2mm on the upper holes, and 15.2mm for the lower holes. I took pictures but Amazon only allows videos. That being said, this is a very nice vice, it's very heavy and well put together vice, the action is very smooth, no wiggle nor play when the cam is engaged, this particular one I bought is honestly more product than I need for my drill press needs. So it's going on my gunsmith worktable and ordering a smaller one for my drill press.
