These G-Buds by GUARD come presented in a small nice quality box containing: - A carry pouch for the G Buds kit, two skeleton ear pieces (already containing medium ear attachments), three pairs of additional ear attachments ranging from small to large, an attachment cord, and a small instruction book.This is a niche product primarily aimed at surfers and other water sports, to prevent water clogged ears whilst still retaining usable hearing ability. This product has other practical uses, for those that have ear problems such as Eustachian tube stuck in open position, perforated ear drum, or generally prone to water clogged ears – these buds may be useful for showering, or in other environments where water may enter the ears.The pouch has a soft rubbery feel, with a sturdy attachment clip. The opening is closed via a magnetic fastener; which in use though easy to open, appears a tad on the weak side for secure fastening. The earplugs themselves have a range of four sizes, the already fitted medium was fine for my own ears.The supplied security cord is easily attached to each ear piece (remove ear attachment, fix cord loop, reattach ear attachment accessory), with the free end with a loop to fix to surfing/swimming attire.The small instruction book is quite excellent, providing in clear concise english all the necessary details for use accompanied by useful illustrations. There are notes on surfer's or swimmer's ear, which this product is designed to circumvent.Being a HiFi buff it was quite interesting to note that most sound does get through these earplugs, only some of the upper high frequencies being slightly attenuated – normal voice and ambient sounds remained perfectly audible. This was impressive given that these plugs do indeed provide an effective water tight seal.Overall, a quality niche earplug product by GUARD, that is well designed; providing effective protection of ears against water ingress whilst retaining useful clear hearing ability.

A clever concept to use a filter to give sound transmission even though a water sports ear plug, but it work. The central black filter is the key here, but it also needs to be treated carefully to prevent it being of damaged or bent, after which, it's no good.When opening, always fit the lanyard first, so you always know where it is and then play about with the outer silicon horns ( which fit under some of the ear-folds to hold the bud in place) and the aural canal grommet to seal from water ingress. It is difficult and you may need a mirror to get the knack of fitting and tucking the right sized horn into the ear, but persevereOnce fitted- it works really well, not perfect sound but far better than usual; silicon ear plugs- if you are heavily into water activities, then these are very good- keep the water out but allow sound to enter better.. A positive shout out for the silicon case supplied, well drained and with integral magnetic closures and a carabiner clip. My only issue was with the ease of fitting into the ear, the multiple size supplied grmmets and locking horns do give a better tuned fit, but it is still a hassle water side.

Swimmers/Surfers Ear can be a real problem for those in cold water, so having things like these wonderful Guard Protect ear plugs are a must for even occasional users, as they keep out water yet cleverly let audio through.Sound quality is also just as clear as without having anything in your ears too. As a British swimmer (and occasional surfer), typically stuck in our cold water when I do, I didn’t like when my ears got wet under the water because over time my ears may be affected, so these are a real boon!Inside the box, you get the basic skeleton of the plugs, along with four different pairs of ear buds so you can try each until you find the best fit for yourself, along with fins in three sizes of fins to also try. These fins are the outside part of the plugs which hold the main part of your ear securely and affectively at all times. These are great, as the security of staying in your ears is there. On top of the above, there's also an included lanyard/leach which stops the plugs getting lost in the unlikely event of them ever falling out randomly.They come in a decent silicone case with ventilation to keep them in with a magnet to keep it closed, along with a useful clip to put on the case if wanted in order to attach to a belt/bag or similar. Instructions are also inside, so nice overall set.The outer packaging box itself has a nice look and fell to it, certainly good enough to give to a swimmer/surfer in your life as a thoughtful present, along with knowing they'll have no issues with sizing as they're all in the box, knowing they'll have a much safer and pleasant cold water sessions. Strongly recommended!
