German excellence, uniquely effective
This is a tremendous quality tool. I have a beard that is like metal wire, and I need very specific razors that can cut through it without destroying my skin. I generally have to wait for my beard to grow out for a couple of days before I can shave it, otherwise the razor burn is terrible. This razor, along with a very sharp blade, can remove the hair after just 24 hours' growth. I would say it's designed for daily shaving. It's extremely precise while being protective of your skin. It's not really designed for longer stubble, not for guys that shave every 3 or 4 days. You'll need a more aggressive razor for that. But if you wanna shave very short stubble every morning, this razor is perfect.

To mild for expireace saver.
It's a good razor for biginer great German quality razor I wish the handle was thicker and longer,it's not a razor for me it's to mild it was better if it was More agresiv, recommend this one for bigginers.

Easy to use, great shave.
Just finished my first shave with a safety razor ever and I am very pleased. I was very nervous and thought I would have some cuts after my first attempt but it was pretty easy and no cuts or nicks. Very smooth shave and kind of fun. I used shaving soap with a brush and did one pass with the grain and then one pass against the grain, and it's a great, smooth, close shave. So far I am very happy with the Giesen & Forsthoff TIM1353 Gentle Shaver Safety Razor.

Best quality , worse shave
Craftsmanship and material is top quality. Will last forever. But this has been the worst razor I ever used. It pulls the hair instead of cutting. I don’t know if mine is defective I couldn’t use, too painful like waxing off your hairs.

Awesome razor
Quality german made shavers. Germans make such good stuff and it shows in this straight edge. I’m no connoisseur, but the feel and weight of this razor feels great.Mounts blades easily and straight with tight tolerance. No play in the threading so the blade cannot be loose.

Good, mild, predictable shave, but blade spacing is uneven.
This has been my daily shaver for a few months. The handle is fantastic, but the head leaves a little bit to be desired as one side of the blade has noticeably more exposure than the other, leaving the "double edge" nature a little useless. Kind of bummed.

Better than Merkur 34c
I have used Merkur 34c on different types of blades but Giesen & Forsthoff TIM1353 blew me out of the water. The handle is thinner but heavier than Merkur 34c. I used the same blades that I had used with Merkur 34c and I was able to get a much closer shave. This shaver shipped from Czechoslovakia so it took few weeks to get to US but it was well packed. I would definitely recommend Giesen & Forsthoff TIM1353.
