A great vest for longer dogs
I have a working line GSD, with a long body and medium-sized chest. It is always a problem to find a coat or a vest that fits him properly. I tried 4 different cooling vests, and they were either too short, too tight or too wide... I nearly gave up on the search until I found this one, and surprisingly it is nearly perfect! Most of the other brands do not have an adjusted neck strap, this one does and it's a huge game-changer if you need to fit a dog which is relatively slender for its length! (I got XXL based on the length of the back)The cut-outs above the front paws are great and help with keeping vest in place. The only thing that does not seem to be anatomically right for my dog are the elastic straps in the back end of the vest, but maybe these will work for a shorter dog (?). I assume these are to make the vest even more fitted, but I don't see any reason to use them. If you adjust the neck and the side straps the whole vest sits perfectly and does not slide. I'm also positively surprised that the vest comes with 2 cooling packs. I used it several times since the purchase and the material holds the moisture very well and there is a significantly cooler underneath the vest.

Great fit!
The little jacket was a pretty good investment for my 20lb rescue Frenchie, Alfie. He hates wearing clothes but wasn't too annoyed with me when I put it on him. We purchased the vest for a road trip to CO and NM. In CO the vest stayed super cool and wet but in NM I was a little disappointed that the water seemed to evaporate a lot quicker than expected. However, it was in the upper 90s so I suppose that's par for the course. The little ice pack pocket is great, but it would be better with another one underneath too. Overall, great jacket!

Somewhat works
Works to an extent, the ice packet/pocket is way too small and does not cool very well, the straps get stuck and the clips feel low quality. All that said it’s still better than nothing

Wrong Product size and missing gel pack.
Product is good.

Material used in the lining is not porous.
Cooling vests are survival for me and my dogs during the summer. One of my dogs needed a replacement and I tried this one. However, while the outer fabric is porous, allowing for the moisture and air to combine and create the coolness, the lining is a nonporous material and when I felt underneath during our walk, it felt hot. That’s exactly the thing you’re trying to avoid! I should point out that I did not use the ice packs that you can add to the side pockets, but I can’t imagine they would’ve made enough of a difference. Two little 3 x 5 ice packs on a 70 pound dog in fabric that doesn’t breathe does not seem that it would work but again I didn’t try them. Sadly, since I’ve used this and it’s been wet and on my dog, I will not be returning. But in case you are willing to give it a try, my dog is a pit, lab, German shepherd mix, 70 pounds. I ordered the extra large and it was a little too big.

The Coolness Lasts a Good While
I bought this cooling vest for my service dog and boy did it keep her cool! The coolness lasted a good long time. AS a whole, the vest didn't dry fast. However, because the temperature did get over 95 degrees, I had brought a water bottle with me to wet it down again...and the cooling packs helped tremendously too. My service dog was comfortable. This is a terrific product!

Quality product, fits perfectly as measurements describe.
My pug Elmer lives in Phoenix AZ better described as HELL. Elmer has a tough time breathing in that weather but his vest lets him be outside and play without all the panting. Perfect everything from this vest from size to coolness to weight of the vest. So happy with my purchase and Elmer thanks you too!

Mixed feelings on this
Seems very true to size or possibly just a tiny bit on the small side. My dog was at the high end of the size range but I didn't want it to be too loose to size up. When I had a cooling jacket for my last dog, which doesn't fit my current dog, it was way different than what they seem to be making now. It wasn't layered but it did stay wet for an hour-ish. I'm not crazy about this multi-layered style, but it might be even more useful if you're like out for the whole day someplace. It just seems bulky to have to wear something like this in the hot summer. But maybe that's just me. I do think it's very well made and is going to hold water as it is supposed to. A big part of your dog staying cool is just protecting it from direct sun. I have reordered something less bulky because I don't need it to cool him for more than an hour or so.
