Great Clean Sound and Features
This DAC produces a very clean, neutral, and analytical sound. For a desktop DAC, the performance is more than excellent enough. Only reason to look for a better performing DAC is if you need it to power hi-fi speakers extremely loudly, such as in a theatre or concert. The noise floor is dead quiet, well beyond lower than what can be audibly picked up. I did see that ground loop hum or noises from their PC could be picked up for some, which I did not experience at all. Getting an USB isolator, like the Topping HS02 would solve this. It's great that this DAC gives you the option to choose between the two outputs, or have them both run simultaneously. I keep both outputs on so I can play my speakers and headphone amplifier at the same time. My previous DAC forced me to choose between my outputs. The remote is Bluetooth, so I do not need to point it directly at the DAC to use it. It's nice that it still seems to work even when the Bluetooth setting is turned off in the DAC. I just wished there were buttons on it to cycle through the PEQ profiles, and to toggle PEQ on/off. The custom user profile buttons help, but there are only two of those. The PEQ feature is great to see incorporated into a DAC at this price point, and I can only hope that this will be the new trend for future DAC's. I am of the belief that a DAC and amplifier should be completely neutral and transparent, and that speakers/headphones will make the biggest difference in sound quality and tone. Having the PEQ squashes any of my desire for a tube amp, as I can play with the PEQ to tweak my headphones how I want. It's good to see that this product has been getting firmware updates which actually added features. I read that PEQ profiles/settings were not saved in the custom user buttons on the remote initially, but a later update added that.Originally I was considering the RME ADI-2 DAC, as that is an all inclusive desktop solution with great performance and features. I did not need most of them so I could not justify the cost of a brand new RME. Ended up getting the D50 III and A50 III stack. I have no regrets with this purchase.Only thing up for question is the reliability down the line, but most other users haven't reported any issues. If something goes wrong, I'll update this reviewIf you are looking for a great performing DAC with PEQ features, this is the one to get!

Great sounding DAC
This is a great DAC, downsides are some of the features (such as parametric eq) are USB-only. Also, I know it's asking for too much, but I wish that it handled AirPlay. I have to connect it to an old AirPort mini via optical for that.

Big sound
Upgraded from a SMSL SU-1 (for the CD transport) and the standard DAC on the Wiim Pro to this Topping D50 iii. Everything sounded more open, better defined with a deeper bass reach. In fact, a deeper and wider reach with all aspects of the sound, so much cleaner overall. The audio preamp now allows me to remotely change volume, something missing with the CD transport and the SU-1. For reference, the DAC goes into a Schitt Freya+ with a Schitt Vidar powering ZuAudio DWX Supreme's and a SVS subwoofer. With switchable inputs, the CD is plugged into the coaxial and Wiim via optical. The D50 iii is producing so much more of a deeper sound that I've had to turn down the sub. Really impressed that it made such a significant difference for such relatively small price. I am tempted to try the alternative 'quite' power options next. Build quality of the unit is great, really solid, remote is a little cheap but not a problem. One minor negative is that it gets confused if turned on with USB power while also plugged into the computer. Just unplug one and restart.

Beware - Einsteins at Work Here
Bought this for a topping d50iii DAC. Idiot DAC has USB for power and USB for PC/EQ. 1st: no "barrel" to USB C cable for 15v power supply.2nd: Can't connect to power and PC simultaneously because the USB C ports ARE TOO CLOSE to one another.

High quality audio for budget price
This is an amazing DAC for the price! I’ve tried the Topping D90 iii and this is no slouch. I wanted something comparable to topping’s high end sound without breaking the bank. The D50 iii is an excellent value and when paired with the topping power supply sounds fantastic.

Great DAC for a Great price!
I'm a fan of most Topping products, although they've been described as being too "analytical" by some, to me it depends on the headphones or IEMs it is paired with, as well the amplifier. I use this DAC in a stack with an A50s (discontinued, replaced by A50III) and it is an amazing little setup. I find that the setup has better synergy with warmer IEMs and Headphones as it brings out more details and has better separation.

Amazing DAC for the price
You will not be disappointed. For the money, I can see no other DAC touching the performance this brings to the table. Mine is paired with the matching A50 iii amp. Make sure you update the firmware ASAP. Mine shipped with an older version that omitted many features.
