Seems to work for my depression, placebo effect notwithstanding - I use it, depression gone, I don't use it for several days until depression returns, I use it again, depression gone. I suspect the efficacy of technology that claims medical benefits but aren't commonly prescribed, so I've tested this on myself as rigorously as I could, and using it negatively correlates with my depressive episodes.

It will get the job done. Only negative I have thus far is that the set up can be a hassle. If you can get over that it's a good value.

I have felt an increase in my mood and my stumbling on words do to anxiety lessened. But DO NOT hold down the pause button while this thing is on your head. There is probably something in the instructions, which I will now re-read. I got zapped to kingdom come. I literally saw blue flashes in my eyes. Definitely hurt really bad. When I hit the pause it didn’t work, that’s why I held it down. I really hope there are no bad side effects from something like that happening. I barley remember throwing the thing to the ground and off my head.

I bought this Tdcs unit for the same reason you're looking at it right now.....Its the cheapest I could find and didnt want to spend too much money on something that might not help my medical condition.1.) Its a lot more uncomfortable than I thought it would be. I used the lowest setting of 0.5ma yet I feel an itchy, burning sensation at each electrode similar to a mosquito bite. Its not like a "tens" device which sends pulses to vibrate a muscle. Instead its a constant, non modulating dc signal. I had hoped it would become unnoticeable after awhile but it never really goes away. I used a "montage" for accelerated learning while I studied. But, I had a hard time focusing because of the electrode burning sensation. The electrodes left red discolorations on my forehead for several days after the initial use (Not cool!)2.) The headband is completely inadequate for electrode placement. You're going to want to use a ball cap or beanie.3.) During my first usage the countdown timer glitched by stopping at 8:20min.....but the unit was still zapping me. All buttons were non responsive and I could not turn it off. Basically the unit "froze" but continued to electrify my head! Glad I didnt fall asleep with it running! I ended up having to remove the battery to reset it.Summary: I believe in science and facts and there is enough eveidence to suggest repeated use of Tdcs has an effect on brain function. However, after using it 3 different times over 2 days I never want to do it again. Its uncomfortable, leaves red marks on my face and didnt seem to work any better than drugs/supplements. If I ever do try Tdcs again I will deffinitely be using another brand. The Brain Driver unit kinda sucks....It froze up at one point requiring me to remove the battery. And it seems way bigger than necessary. I ended up returning it to Amazon for a refund.
