Caran Dache Mechanical Pencil, Classic Line, red, with 0.7mm Lead

Given this item 5 stars as it is lovely and arrived very quickly. However, the description is not accurate. It’s supposed to be the aluminium version (as described), not the plastic barreled type. Unless the aluminium is under the plastic coating and I’m wrong. I wanted the more durable model. Anyway, it’s a great mechanical pencil, nice colour and proportions are perfect.

This pencil gets everyday use.I wish the replacement erasers were a little more available but otherwise it is perfect. Stylish, easy to use and durable.

It’s perfect for me.The balance and wait is perfect.The design, specifically has been around for a hundred years. My grandfather had a silver one (I believe that the internals were somewhat different but it looked identical)If you use a pencil a lot then this is a great every day scribbler!

It's a good pencil to write, sketch and doodle with, I already have the Caran D'Ache 2mm Fixpencil but this is the first time I have used the 0.7mm mechanical pencil version. Minimal, clean lines, quality finish, overall what you would expect.The slight niggles are that the lead advance mech is a bit on the slow side, a very small amount of lead extends with each click, also it seems to be a bit of a lead breaker. I thought this might be the leads so tried a different type. This was an improvement but still prone to easier lead breakage than I am used to, certainly not the end of the world.Maybe my heavy hand but the usual (draughting style) mechanical pencils from the likes of Rotring, Staedtler, OHTO, TWSBI, Pentel, etc, etc don't seem to have any issues with my writing/drawing pressure.

I have a mini collection of mechanical pencils and suspect this will be the one I use most from now on.It arrived very quickly. The pencil feels good perfect in the hand , being comfortable to hold and a perfect weight.I am very pleased with my purchase.

I’ve not even tried the pencil yet. I am sure it will be good but I bought this because it came with a presentation box. It was bought as a gift so when it arrived it appeared in a plastic bag so no use as a gift. This product is misleading and it’s a lot of money for a pencil in a plastic bag.

This is a lovely albeit overpriced mechanical pencil. I bought this as a gift and expected it to be in the presentation box that is shown in the photos. For a relatively expensive item you don’t expect it to arrive unpackaged and shoved in an Amazon cardboard envelope.
