Compact, and yet reliable!
As a Service technician who carries a large variety of tools every day, finding light, compact, and reliable devices is a constant quest, often with disappointing results when devices turn out to not meet the advertising claims.I am always on the lookout for compact network switches with internal power supplies because it's one less thing to fit in my backpack. The ability to power a single PoE+ device is a requirement for my work and it has been difficult to find a device that fits the bill in real life testing, although many claim to do so.This switch is a back saver! I burned it in for hours running 1 PoE+ and 3 PoE devices simultaneously with a total power load of 32 watts according to a kill-o-watt meter. It gets a bit warm but had no issues powering the devices and all 5 ports pass true gigabit speeds!

Connected my POE camera, a POE wifi endpoint, and a couple of connections.
This is a good, low-cost solution to get power and data to your POE devices. I had a camera, a Cisco Wifi endpoint, and a couple of PCs connected. Throughput was good and power reliable. The instruction manual was pretty light on details, but I was able to muddle through the setup successfully. It could use a little better detail, though.Good for home use or small home office. Good price, too.

Solid Construction
I only have 3 POE+ cameras that I could test this on (one of them a Pan/Tilt), but there wasn't any issues running all 3 of them (this switch handles both POE and POE+ devices). The Pan & Tilt worked at full motor speed. The switch got warm, but not hot. Could easily be touched. The manual says something about rubber feet to put on the unit, but I couldn't find any. Not a big deal. The construction of this is solid. Metal housing with an additional ground screw. I think some buyers don't know why there would be a ground screw if the power cord is already connected to the AC ground. For those who've worked with antennas, they'll know what it is for. Since this could be powering cameras located outside and up high...if they are hit with a lightning strike and you don't have this connected to earth ground (not AC ground, but an actual earth ground) you will find any electronics that were in the vicinity of the lightning path will be fried. If this is connected to earth ground you'll at least isolate the pathway and save some of your equipment. Of course if there is no chance of a lightning strike on any of your attached POE devices, you should be fine with it just plugged into AC (consult a professional electrician if you are not sure). If you need a POE+ switch with 4 ports or less, I'm sure you'll be more than happy with this (I know I am)

Excellent
Great little PoE switch. Worked right out of the box. Good quality connectors, bright LEDs, wall mount ports, earth connection, did not get hot but warm to the touch when 4 IP cameras connected. Needs very little space and does not slide on my wooden desk. Works exactly as advertised. Thumbs up.

Decent small form factor switch with Poe.
This is a decent 5 port Gig switch with Power over Ethernet on 4 of the 5 ports. The switch seems solidly made, the case feels strong and all metal. There are also 2 mounting holes on the back which make mounting on the back of something much cleaner. There are only 5 - 1 gig ports, so not sure what good 10 Gbps switching capacity will do.The unit powered on with nothing connected runs at around 3 watts. Normal ethernet connections seem to raise the power usage by around 1 watt per port from my testing. PoE connections will obviously raise it higher depending on what the device is.As you can see in my picture this unit has an extra feature not shown in the listing. There is a default/extend switch which I assume is for longer runs that use PoE.I would say this is a great device that is a little on the higher side price wise of "budget PoE switches".

Great Plug N' Play Switch
I have been using this switch to power the Wireless Access Points throughout my house for the last couple of weeks and am more than pleased with it. It is a simple plug and play device that doesn't require any configuration. It was able to power all of my APs without any issues and it doesn't get very warm at all. I didn't experience any outages or anything. Simple switch that does everything I need it to.I do like that it has a 5th non POE port as that is the port to be used as an uplink. Very happy with this product.

Awesome POE
I love this device. Works great for my security cameras. I have two cameras connected to it, each 100 feet away with no problems at all. Highly recommended!
