Do thread spools fit onto the pegs?

This product comes with enough pegs on its own. Regular thread spools are not fit.

Is being portable true? Can I carry it in a backpack?

Are the wheels suppose to come off easily? They won’t stay on not sure if I’m suppose to tap them in with a hammer or mallot maybe?
