I've just installed this after buying it several months ago. So far it has been great - just the right thing needed for a little extra support when stepping into my house.Easy to install, hoping it holds up over time. Tip - I used blue tape on the back of the mounting plate to mark the holes, then taped that to my door frame to drill the pilot holes.

This is really very handy. Taking care of my elderly Dad also involves making him comfortable and confident in taking the stairs. This bar goes a.long way in making Dad more willing to get out of the house.

works as advertised, simple install

It is easy to install and works great. I installed it on my back door going to the deck as I have to go up one step and have been holding on to the door handle and the trim in order to get in the house. This handle makes it so easy and much safer.

I would like to recommend. Using it to go down step in my garage. I am near 80 years, female.

I purchased two to be installed on either side of the door frame on our front door. My husband has mobility issues and he can use these to pull him self up the threshold into the house. Once inside, he can flip the handles up, and they cannot be seen from the outside.

Tools needed: power drill with 1/8" bit, bar of soap, stud finder, pencil and hand screwdriver.We needed this to assist my husband in climbing up & out of our crawl space (the entry to it is through a hatch in the floor).I mounted this through the drywall and into a vertical stud, placed at the best height for him to grab from the step ladder in the crawl space.I located the stud, drilled a couple of small pilot holes to be sure I was in the stud width.If you are more confident of your wall knowledge than me, skip this step.Place the fastening plate in position and marked correct height and the location of the four screw holes.Then, using a 1/8" drill bit, slowly drilled into the top two screw marks.I thoroughly scraped the screw threads along a bar of soap to lubricate the threads. This REALLY helps keep you from messing up the screw heads!!Position the handle's wall plate, making sure the arrow (on the back of the plate) is pointing UP!Align it to the pre-drilled holes on the wall.Then, using a screwdriver (NOT a drill), SLOWLY screw in each soaped screw, beginning with the top two.SLOW is the key word. Hurrying, at this point, can make a big problem!Do NOT over-tighten the screws until all four are almost completely in!Screw each of them in just enough that they will each only need a last couple of turns to be firmly in the stud!Then, finish the job, tightening each one gently.There you have it!Again, take your time! Going slowly, using the correct size drill bit and soaping the screw threads will keep you from stripping the screw heads and having a major hissy fit and a real problem with trying to remove a screw that does not want removing!Great product and allows my husband to pull his 185 lbs up easily.
