Lorex is the best system I have ever owned, the cameras are high quality and have never given me trouble for over 17 years on four houses. Easy to install and setup. This was a replacement for one unit on my sons house that stopped recording but still worked.

The Lorex Cloud Client for Windows 10 has major issues. It will display the SUB STREAM but if you switch to the MAIN STREAM all you get is SEARCHING. A few times I did get 1 or two of the cameras to switch to the main stream but it was not repeatable. Spent hours on support and went through a lot of setting and though it was working only to have it crash and then could not get the main streams to work again. If they did it took several minutes to load. Now the android app works fine on three devices. Another issue is on the cloud client, multiple cameras views, it is not live and never updates without opening individual cameras. Guess I will go back to my old lnr6100 unit. No use for a 4k system that is incapable of displaying in HD. Tech support, good luck. Anyone else found a fix?

This unit only supports 8 wired camera's, NOT 16. Speaking with Amazon many people have been tricked by them. If you have more the 8 wired cameras, Do Not buy this product. Funny they don't show the back of the NVR, right?Speaking with Amazon many people have been tricked by them.

The device is WAY too big for what it does. With that said I still wanted to be able to save any number of files without running out of space anytime soon. I also wanted complete control of any recordings without storing them in the cloud, which anyone having their data stolen understands, and monthly fees. Problems: It took two hours of tech support, one call, to resolve the missing admin password issue as it came out of the box. Also they don't tell you that you need a HDMI monitor to configure this recorder. It did come with a HDMI cable, too short for my needs, and it also came with a mouse. It presents a virtual keyboard for entering numbers and letters. This model supports 8 wired AND 8 wireless camera inputs. More then enough for my home needs. There were other comments about poor tech support, but I found them helpful and persistent enough to resolve my problem the first time.

Old box die brought this as replacement works better like the new interface.

I have used 3 generations of lorex NVRs this generation is a huge disappointment. Its unreliable to set up cameras with and is unacceptable.Customer support was dramatically worse than previous experiences. They followed scripts and made no attempt to access the system to understand the problem.Camera detection firmware was unstable.I reactivated an older 6108 NVR and am on line with it. In the future will look at other manufacturers equipment.

Impressed with this recorder, super easy to setup and connects up to 8 WiFi cameras, plus 8x cameras via RJ45 ports, saving time and keeping minimum cables around my house, I'm using just wifi. Fist time setup with my monitor, and now disconnected from monitor, put next to my router under the stairs, runs only with power cable and 1x RJ45 cable, that's all you need. Size could be smaller, but it's OK, nice design. Still using hard drive, making noise obviously. Could upgrade to SSD, but not sure about the lifespan, maybe hard drive last longer. Anyway, love Lorex products!!! Thumbs up 👍
