Spectra Premium CU1193 Radiator With TOC Compatible With Jeep Cherokee and Comanche

I used this in my manual transmission Cherokee XJ. It has the extra fittings for the transmission cooler which the manual XJ doesn't need. However this is good for me as I might use it as part of a power steering cooler (although I already have a small one).This is a direct replacement for my old radiator. Amazon shipped this in a HUGE box. I thought there was a bathtub in there. Then inside the box is the manufacturers box which was protected b/c of the Styrofoam. In short, no way would this come to you damaged.I haven't had it on too long but It appears to be well made. My old one 'started' to fail where the plastic end tank hits the core. My understanding is that there is an o-ring there that can tend to shrink and get brittle with time. My old radiator had 142K miles on it and was actually still functional with a slight leak, if this lasts 1/2 that time I'd be very pleased.One thing i will note, you can see in the picture of the radiator there are two vertical metal slats that run downwards. This was not present on the factory unit.This made it more challenging to re install my ZJ Clutch Fan (Thicker than Stock) and my power steering cooler/electric fan combo. I thought about cutting the slats, but some cursing helped.Last Update: Note this is an aluminum core radiator.

I purchased this radiator as my old one was leaking from the lower corners. Installation was fairly straight forward. I found it easiest to remove the front Header Panel and radiator support so that the AC condenser was not damaged in the process. I have had this installed for 2-3 weeks and there has been no leaks. Jeep is running under 200 Deg even with AC running at idle.Forgot to take a pic when all apart so picture of my XJ for reference after the install.I replaced almost my entire cooling system when this was done. Radiator appears to be of high quality. Well packaged. Not damaged in shipment. Easy replacement with common hand tools and average skill. System was flushed, radiator installed, and coolant replaced with recommended 50/50 mix. Worked well when first installed but has developed several leaks within the first 1000 miles of use. Auto is a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport, driven occasionally on weekends to get project materials from one of the big box stores. Have purchased Spectrum products before and have not experienced any issues. Caveat Emptor!

Dazzled.First and foremost, (and sorry for gushing).. but AMAZON just knocked me over with their "support after sales". I had ordered and received one radiator already, but unfortunately there was some cooling tube damage (not due to shipping, seemed to be from the Mfg IMHO) which required me to request a replacement. Well, I rarely return anything and was new to the process. I wasn't looking forward to it, not to mention the delay. But I hopped onto the Amazon and gave it a try.Long story short; click, click, click and I am sitting here writing this with a 2nd, brand new replacement radiator in from of me. I literally just requested a replacement yesterday, Friday. Today is Saturday! I'm not good at math but I believe that's called "next day service", and on a Saturday to boot. I am just knocked over to say the least. To be fair, the ETA for the 2nd radiator was for next Tuesday, which I would understand. "Stuff" does happen. So your results may vary. Things take time of course. BTW: The 1st radiator will go back pre-paid and either picked up at my door (using a pre-printed shipping label) or dropped off at the shipper, my decision.That being said, this experience will lower seriously lower my stress level ordering "on-line" (with Amazon). I just couldn't have asked for a better, low stress outcome. Amazon seriously daZzled me with it's low cost, fast ship and amazing support after sales. And we are talking about a item under $100.Ok, the radiator.Spectra? Sweet! I couldn't ask for more at this price point. Seriously glad I found and purchased this "Spectra" radiator. Would purchase again. Through Amazon of course. Sorry for the small amount of radiator details. But it just works. Can't beat that.

It fit the frame, etc. well, but the hole for the temperature sensor was smaller than the stock temp sensor; had to convert to a temperature sensor for a 1991 Jeep. Doesn't come with a radiator cap. Also had to add an overflow reservoir. But no leaks and seems to work well so far.
