results may vary
Edit, tried with another (older) laptop and 1280 x 800 works nicely... I guess it just depends on the computer.1024 by 600 sounds familiar, but 1024 by 768 is what I thought it meant. I tried every resolution, even 800x600 shows only half of the taskbar/start button. It's kind of terrible, I regret buying it now. Looks like crap too. Live and learn! Maybe great for particular needs but a more standard monitor would be a better choice for many.

Great little monitor
Nice little monitor to travel with for portable gaming systems.

10" monitor
I use this for working on camera systems. I work on school bus cameras, excellent monitor for camera work or even a back up camera.

Good for the money, but there are things you should know...
I bought this to provide video for a blu ray player I'm using as a disc transport in an audio-only system so I can see settings and controls for DVD-A. It works well as advertised, but there are a few things worth noting.1) The input and power jacks are on the sides, not the back or bottom, meaning that your wires WILL be sticking out from the sides of this monitor. If you're looking for a clean, streamlined look from the front you will be disappointed.2) This thing beeps LOUD when you press a button on it and turning the volume down does nothing to stop them.3) The buttons that control input, volume, and power are EXTREMELY sensitive. Just think about getting near one and it will activate with that annoying loud beep.4) It's very light and will get pulled around by the wires unless you glue, tape, or tac it down. It comes with some double sided tape cut to fit the base, so you can use that if you're not planning on moving it around. I'm using sticky-tac which works well also. That all said, it's fine for the money and does what I need it to.

Good for retro gaming
Purchased this to have as a secondary monitor for discord, and for retro gaming. Older consoles look great on here!!

Fails
It was nice until it stopped working. The audio began making noise like popcorn, then shortly afterwards the video started to join the fun.The company was great, they sent a replacement even after the 30 day window. But the replacement failed in the same manner within a week. The company won't send another replacement, even though the 2nd unit failed within the 30 day window.Their customer service people are awesome, but I wish I could say the same about the product. We switched everything to see if it was the set top box, the power supply, the HDMI cable, the electrical outlet. Nothing resolved the problem with the popping noise.

Great looking little monitor, came with all the needed cables and even a remote control. Decent quality and easy to install(plug and play).
