Easy button for growing mushrooms
So this product would work best in an insulated enclosure with a heat pad , or some sort of heating element, and a thermostat.due to not creating the right temerture my growth was very delayed, and before i go could harvest my P. Envy they got green mold like in fection that did develop into like the 3rd month innoculation. the shroom were massive but yet a shame to have to throw away.Moral of the story, temperture control is operation critical. To prevent delayed growth spotty growth and i think the air need to be refreshed inside it too. i'll be buying again, but im going to rig up a mini fridge with a tstat and a non emitting heating element and then a low temp light source to stimulate fruiting

No more
Ordered 5 and 3lb first time ever trying to grow these I used spores I did get mycelium growth and then mold after about 10 days now trying new bags (replacements) with liquid culture from different site. When I first reached out directly to website they replaced my 3lb immediately but not 5lb. I used liquid culture Jedi mind f:ck 3 weeks had 30-40% mycelium I broke it up smelled like good mushrooms and over 2 months in it has barely done anything other than white specks everywhere still waiting to see if it’s going anywhere. Other day they reached back out and replaced both bags (the 3lb for the second time). If this doesn’t work I will have to try another method.Update after couple monthsOkay I found mold today in my last bags I have gone thru 5x of these bags and all mold. Used spores and liquid culture from different Expensive sites. Such a waste of money!!! They will replace bags but not refund money. This is highly likely to contaminate. I’ve had success with other methods this one i would Not recommend to my enemy. I’ve been trying sense May and I only had these bags going so I’m without nothing months later. Don’t make the mistake I did and count on one company/method. I almost quit doing everything because I can’t afford to just waste money. Their directions on YouTube are completely worthless. Grain spawn and 90 second rice is what I’m doing now and it’s going wonderful. Look into making your own Liquid culture it will amaze you and save you so much money. This was an expensive learning experience that almost made me stop trying. Good luck!!!

The price keeps going up, but you can buy it cheaper directly on their website
The bag works great, but thanks Amazon for jumping up $10 in just two months. Greed.

No Colonization
I've never gotten ANY colonization with these bags. I did the same process, at same time, with same spores into another bag and I got colonization within one week. This bag after two months is not progressing.Updated review: I raised the temp really high for a bit and finally got growth. It took twice as long compared to others, but the yield was great.

Low Risk, Easy Start
Say goodbye to Uncle Ben’s and hello to Professor Benjamin’s. You’ll still need a setup for controlling temperature after it fully colonizes, but this approach takes care of humidity and CO2. These bags also accelerate time to fruit and increase yields with its substrate composition. For the mushrooms I grow, PF Tek might take 2-2.5 months to fruit if my jars are all colonizing fast and my coir cakes are in good fruiting condition (light, temp, hum, fae), but this is about half that! What’s more, you save time because you don’t need to prep your BRF cake mix or your coir cake mix, which means it requires much less of your time. Although the variable cost of materials increases, these are a big decrease for variable labor costs!Update: if you buy directly from mushroomsupplies.com you can often get better discounts with seasonal promo codes they send to your email. You’ll still need to sterilize your needles for inoculation, but the pre-bagged approach takes a lot of the contamination risk out of the equation. All in all, I still think this is a worthwhile purchase, especially if you’re just getting started with growing your own dung-loving mushrooms.I wasn’t too thrilled with the fruiting output, but I think there’s still a lot I can do to optimize yields.

These work really well for growing gourmet mushrooms.
I have found that these were really good for growing gourmet mushrooms, although they take a little longer sometimes than another brand. You can get them in two sizes which work well for if you just want a little of the type of mushroom you want to eat or a lot in my case I was growing lions and I wanted a lot so I got one of each. Once you start getting, your mushroom for the lions man grows really fast. The moisture seems to be just about right and I did try one of the bags, oyster mushrooms. They grew good as well, but we’re much slower than the lions man which might’ve been the species and not the bag I think they’re a good price for the job and will buy them .

Little to no growth
Bought one of these to test if it is worth it to buy premade bags over putting the time and effect into making my own. With these being labeled as for dung loving mushrooms, I used shaggy mane spores to make liquid culture and injected 10CC's into the bag.Just checked today, 3 weeks in and no growth at all. Seems like there just isn't enough moisture in this bag? When I was checking it today, I also noticed the the coco coir had a strange apperance compared to my own coir and the coir in the other premade bags I've both for testing. I currently have it quarntined away from everything else. Hoping it isn't any sort of contamination.Same batch of liquid culture was used on another brand's bag and my own homemade bag, and in the first week there was already strong mycelium growth. I'd say they're probably 70~80% colonized at this point.I thought about getting a second bag to test another strain. Ideally, I'd be testing multiple strains with multiple bags, but I don't feel like spending the money for that, and with the lack of current growth I'm seeing in my current bag, I don't think I'll be ordering another.
