Mandatory starting book for those interested in Euclid
I love this book, though it's old the quality is excellent and the material is fresh. Let me say this again, though it was published in the 1800's the quality of the text and diagrams are unmatched. After reading the book, and if you loved it, attempt the latin & greek version - but wire this first. Also I would say an interested 6+ year old would love the first couple of propositions if the had an adult help them out a bit ... but even someone that has a phd in computer science or mathematics could enjoy this. A special thank you to the publisher that put a lot of love into this restoration.

A great read and conversation piece
Very interesting information to the right reader. Also serves well as a conversation starter on the shelf. Beautiful and easy to follow illustrations that I don’t know why we don’t use more in modern instruction.

Magnificent…Correcting some erroneous critiques
This is a profound work of mathematical design and presentation…if you have interest in exploring a seminal work that defined geometry for two thousand years, this version will bring much pleasure. Two correction to other critiques I have seen in Amazon reviews:1) one reviewer erroneously claimed that this book has typographical errors with F’s replacing S’s. This is not true. The book use both long and short S’s, various ligatures, and other elements of classical typography. The text setting is as an eighteenth century document.2) another reviewer argued that due to the colors, this book should never have been released in Kindle form. This ignores the fact that the free Kindle reading apps on computers, phones and tablets display beautifully all the colors. I personally feel that the hardback book is the best format for digging into this text, but I am very happy to also have purchased the Kindle book for the pleasure of portability, with full color displays, wherever I go.A reader looking into understanding Euclid, or someone who appreciates information design or mathematical visualization, or someone with a historical interest in the presentation of proof and theorem, will likely find many pleasures in this amazing work.

Nearly every S is an F... (UPDATE)
I've been made privy to the fact that I've made an error in my review, since the text is, in fact, using eighteenth-century text setting. I'm glad to have been made aware of that and have changed my review. The book is lovely and will please plenty of people. I still find the typography to be distracting, so the book isn't for me.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I'm not sure what to think. Nearly every letter that should be an S is printed as an F, and it's thoroughly distracting. I've never returned anything I've purchased on this site, but I'm going to figure out how to return this. Which is disappointing since I'd been looking forward to reading this book.

Illustrator are important too
In my travels, I became aware that there are many, many proofs for the Pythagorean theorem. With the tremendous advances in illustrating by print, computer programs, and graphics on You Tube, these trades have made the math more accessible to more people. Fascinating illustrations with huge practical applications, if only more people knew how to use these concepts.

Stunning Illustrated Book
This book is beautiful. I love the primary colors used throughout and how the geometric symbols and diagrams are displayed. Unlike anything I've ever seen. Great for your collection and something unique to display in your home or office. Quality purchase.

good book, but print quality mediocre
the contents of the book are good of course, but the print quality isn't very good, at least on the softcover, which along with the old-timey long s can make reading a bit uncomfortable. as another reviewer mentioned, the pages are grey. i would have been okay with this, but another problem is that the text is a bit blurry.

Wonderful text
I came across this book while at a BnB in Ireland. Being of an engineer mind, I picked it up and started from page one. AMAZING! To think of the history and genius behind these works gives one chills. So simple in the beginning yet every little step builds upon the last until the geometry gets beautiful. I immediately bought this for my daughter who is minoring in math on the condition that I can read it too. This is a wonderful book for those with a mathematical mind or even an artists mind. We all know math is art!!
