Would recommend to anyone in need of crutches!
This knee scooter has been a complete lifesaver! I just had surgery to repair two torn tendons in my left foot/ankle and I am completely non-weight bearing for the next 4 weeks. I have been using my scooter for just under a week and I could not be happier. I can get all over my house with relative ease. I can go forwards, backwards and even make turns without much thought. It rides smoothly on all the floor surfaces we have. Carpet (fairly thick), tile, and hardwood. I am able to use the basket to carry a lot of things around with me so that I can get from one place to another without having to wait for someone to come help me. My knee is not getting sore at all! The cushion is really soft and supportive of my knee. The break is nice to have on tile, just to make sure you are stable before sitting down or standing up. I am only 5'2" and the scooter could go even lower if needed and it can definitely adjust up for much taller people as well. I have used my crutches a little to get around when taking a shower, or things like that, but I know that if I had to rely on only crutches, my arms would be so sore and I'm sure I would have tried to put my foot down by accident at some point and hurt myself. The scooter takes away that temptation/situation from even happening. While I can't wait to walk on my own again, I will be sad to see my scooter go when I am done using it. It is the best purchase I have made for myself and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is non-weight bearing for an injury. The sturdy design and easy folding top (I can put it in the car to take with me) is great! You will not be disappointed in this product.

Would absolutely buy again if I ever have another foot surgery
I had major foot surgery that required me to be off of one foot for 12 weeks during a particularly icy winter. While I could get around on crutches just fine indoors, trying to navigate an icy sidewalk on crutches was a recipe for disaster. A few weeks after my surgery, I finally broke down and ordered this. I wish I had ordered it sooner. It was extremely easy to assemble (even for a guy on pain medication with only one good leg). Within ten minutes of opening the box, I was zooming around my living room floor. After getting this, the only time I used crutches was to go up/down stairs or when I was visiting a friend's home that was too small/tight inside to have room to maneuver the scooter.Until I had this, I did not realize how much having to rely on crutches was limiting my ability to get out of the house. Once I had the scooter, going to the mall with my wife to get some holiday shopping done was not only possible but enjoyable. When my wife was taking a particularly long time in one area of the mall, I was able to turn around and sit on the knee pad and then place my injured foot across the knee of my good leg to keep it elevated--so this was both a scooter and a seat when I needed one. When I was off pain medication and cleared to drive, I threw this in the back of my car and took it everywhere I went. It is light enough that I was able to easily put it in the trunk while hopping on one leg. When I returned to work, I was zooming up and down the halls of my office on this. The basket on the front made it easy to carry around my ice pack and whatever file materials I was working on. When I was seated at my desk, or when my wife and I went out to dinner, I used the knee pad on the scooter as a cushion to prop my leg up on to keep my foot elevated. The bottom line is that this scooter made my life a lot easier and much more enjoyable during what was already a painful drawn out recovery. I would note that I am a fairly big guy at a bit above 250 lbs. I found the scooter extremely sturdy and comfortable and imagine it would safely carry someone well in excess of my weight. The knee cushion was comfortable for me, though I would take my knee off of it and stretch my leg out every 5-10 minutes to keep my lower leg from tingling due to the pressure on my knee/shin.When I was done with this, I sold it locally for well over half of what I paid for it, though I would have considered it money well spent even if I had not gotten anything for selling it.

Good but . . . . . .
Injury: Fractured ankle, surgeryThe Knee Walker arrived timely, in good condition, and took just a few minutes to assemble. Be sure to keep adjusting until it fits you just perfectly. This is a sturdy little vehicle and is much preferable to a wheelchair. Works really great on wood floors and fair on carpet. Can put in car easily. The basket is so handy (carry my iPhone and iPad in it constantly). Wish it had a cup holder! Also, it is NOT good to sit on, even for one minute. Ouch! It would be nice to have some kind of a folding seat attachment that would pop into place when desired. My biggest complaint is the turning radius of the knee walker. OMG! It is so small. I find myself riding all around the house to avoid the effort that is required simply to turn the darn thing around. Back up. go forward. back up. go forward, back up, go forward, ad nauseum . . . . .you get the picture. I don't know if this is a problem with all knee walkers or just this one. Perhaps it is for safety. Whatever the reason, it is irritating.I must add that when I am scooting around, I do feel so much better and unencumbered than when I am struggling with a wheelchair. It is much smaller, too, so gets into more tight spaces. There is also an exercise benefit. In my case, it helps my back and also my thigh because it forces weight-bearing on otherwise unused muscles.I hope to be able to retire my knee walker in just 2 more weeks.
