This is probably about the 5th set of Geomag Magnets I have had, and in the same way, LEGO lasts forever, these things are built to last! What I really like about them, is the appeal they have to kids of all ages. When my Niece comes over (who is 5) she instantly wants to play with them, and inevitably my 14-year-old Step Son will join in which shows their versatility. There is something quite addictive about Magnets, and these brightly coloured Glittery Magnets are great fun for all. I think they are brilliant and well worth the money.

This Geomag set comes with 35 pieces all in lovely glittery and sparkly colours, which are very eye-catching, there is also a handy storage box to store the bars in for when they’re not being played with.You can follow the instructions to make things like a house, sailboat, ballerina and lots more, or use your imagination and make whatever you like.The quality of the bars is very good and it is the kind of toy that will last well. My only complaint is that there isn’t a lot in the box, I’d expect at least double the number of bars for the price. I guess you could buy other sets and mix and match, but these sets don’t come cheap so it could be quite costly.There is definitely a lot of fun to be had and it is a great toy for sparking the imagination, I just think it is a little overpriced.

My lad has been using these for the last few weeks and doesn’t find building with them as satisfying as the usual squares and triangles you usually get. You get a load of magnetic balls and magnetic rods and you make shapes out of those. Then there’s plastic inserts that you place in between the shapes. The plastic inserts are a bit fiddly to get In the right position and stay in place so that’s not much fun. He does like that you can make objects spin though if you build them in a certain way, that’s about the only thing that’s really fun about them.Overall for me you don’t get enough parts in the pack for the amount it costs you. But then again these magnetic sets do tend to be on the pricy side.
