A lovely set of miniatures from Master Box. The instructions are abysmal, but even I figured out how to put the trench together so it really doesn't matter. This is my second set of figures from Master Box. Good value!

This is a great model kit!
This kit is really awesome. The figures are well detailed, comes with plenty of accessories, and a trench platform which is a great touch. The only complaint that I have (which is a small one to me) is that there is a lot of refinement for the figures to make them look more realistic but other than that, I think it's an awesome kit.

Overall an okay kit
There are some things to like about the kit but all the gushing reviews of it are really overdone. It's got reasonable detail and can be built up into a decent diorama. But it takes work. There is a good amount of cleanup to get it to that point. The duck board at the bottom of the trench is too pristine for a WWI trench. That could be executed a lot more realistically, as could the rest of the trench. You can find plenty of photos of trenches on the internet, where you can see how unrealistic this trench is. If you like to scratch build then this model is a great place to start from. There are zero assembly instructions. You only have what you see on back of the box, which for inexperienced modelers is not going to be sufficient. On the plus side Masterbox is one of the very few companies that deal with this subject. So thank you Masterbox for that! However the whole thing could be done so much more realistically. This kit needs upgrades and should probably be retooled. If you're new at modeling figures you will likely have issues. Somebody with modelling experience will enjoy this kit a lot more. Ultimately I did as well but I did a lot of scratch built upgrades. It can be a good starting point to make a decent diorama. 2 stars for the beginner and 3 or 4 stars for the experienced modeler. But all the 5 star fanboy gushing reviews are way over the top.
