Bearded Dragons in the wild receive ultraviolet light and heat from the sun on a daily basis. In order to best mimic the ultraviolet light in an indoor enclosure, high ultraviolet (UVA and UVB) output light bulbs must be used. 1 Fluorescent bulbs and mercury vapor bulbs are the two sources most commonly used in the pet world. This bulb will offer the UV light your dragon needs to thrive in it's environment.

Not very bright
Installed this bulb to try as an alternative to other UVA/UVB bulbs, but I didn't find it to be very bright in comparison.

Zero UVA/UVB rays! Save your animal the distress and buy Evergreen...
I never write reviews unless something is seriously wrong so please trust me on this and save your baby the trouble! Or at least consider it if your animal isn't acting like themselves. I moved to Cali in March and my boyfriend bought a new bulb for my bearded dragon. Soon thereafter she started having serious digestion issues. She would only poop once every two weeks and when she did it was straight diarrhea. Poor thing was suggeringgggg. Of course, I thought parasites but nope! We had a fecal done twice and they all came back negative. I tirelessly went through her diet to make sure she wasn't allergic to anything but nothing changed. However, since she still had a healthy appetite I figured there wasn't much I could do. Come November, I figured it was time to replace her bulb. This is when I learned my boyfriend had boughten ComfyPets! I thought he got her the one we normally do so I never questioned the bulb. I definitely don't blame him though because when I went online this brand was highly recommended on more than one site. I would have done the same thing! So I thought just maybe it's the bulb so I got a different one...sure enough!! She had her first solid poop in 8 months. And she is back to pooping three to four times a week (all solid of course) and is much more active. Coincidence?? I think not! I feel terrible I did this to her. The only explanation I can think of is the bulb doesn't put out enough UVA/UVB (if any at all) because this is how they properly digest their food. She was having issues with digestion for so long it had to be UV deficiency. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY EVERGREEN MERCURY BULB. Same price, solid poops, and happy animal!

NOT good for Beardies
This style of UVB is NEVER recommended for beardies. They need the UVB strip tube lighting to distribute the proper UVB throughout the enclosure!
