This is a great small easel I use for mostly my drawing materials. I do have many other easels for painting and standing, but this one is perfect for using on your lap. I really enjoy taking it with me outdoors on hikes and camping expeditions as it is not too large and fits in a backpack well. I did have to carve a little larger opening in the drawer so I could fit a few pages of drawing paper to lay flat and the drawer would close.I also lightly sanded the edges around the drawer handle area so it would not encourage splinters. This is a very worthwhile purchase and I would recommend this be added to your easel collection for artists, crafts and even reading a book or a tablet. I like the solid wood of the easel rather than the ones with cut outs in them. This hold a flat sheet of paper and allows you to write on it anywhere on the board without tearing through your paper. I alse added a couple of the Grifiti Band Joes silicone bands to hold my medium or tablet onto the easel without it falling or blowing off. I love everything about this little easel, it's the perfect size for the paintings I am doing and I love the drawer for brushes and things. The drawer locks into position and the easel has very adjustable angles too. It folds up and stores easily and is very portable and has a nice handle on it. The wood is pretty and it's nice, especially for the low price! Very impressed and happy! The latches look like the least durable part of this but they work fine and could always be replaced if need be. I'll be keeping this for a long time.

First, package arrived actually a few hours early which is fantastic.Second the easel appears to not only be fairly well made but one I would easily have no problem gifting to a friend. The tray and the easel do have a tiny latch. Handle is more than adequately well made for the table top easel. All in all am well pleased with the purchase.

I loaded this thing up with a bunch of oil painting supplies and put it in my trunk so I can use it whenever. Will usually find a bench and set the easel on my lap, setting out my supplies on other parts of the bench (like in the attached photo). Very satisfied so far, here are some pros and consPros:Good lookingDurable (I dropped it from 4 or so feet up and walked away with only cosmetic wear)High quality components. The latches on the drawer and the actual easel part work great, and the easel props up nicely at three different inclinesDrawer smoothly opens and closes (unless you jam pack it like I do, still not too much trouble)The pallet that comes with it does its job and fits nicely on top of everything else in the drawer (assuming you don't jam pack it too much)Lightweight and easy to transportCons:While it helps to keep it lightweight, the drawer is shallow, and some of the dividers separating the drawer into 3 different sections can make it so its hard or impossible to fit certain long, tall, thick or bulky items. Thick handled brush users will have trouble. For this reason I carry around a seperate bag with my bulkier items, like mediums, paper towels, and jar lids I can set out paint tubes on and put thinner in to clean my brushes. If you're going to use this for transport of material, try and pack small. I'm just using a 5 dollar set of paints in small tubes and they fit, but much bigger and they wouldn't. It's still a great product, just don't expect to stuff your entire collection of painting materials in thereI wish there were a way to raise the bottom part of the easel (that the bottom of the canvas would sit on) so that when lap painting with a smaller canvas, I don't need to hunch over as much to get the parts near the bottomConclusion:Overall, great product as long as you plan ahead. Just know you won't be able to fit larger items in the drawer, and plan to pack small. If packing small isn't an option, you might want to look into other products, but if you can manage it the easel is absolutely great!

I read many reviews about this item before ordering.I was somewhat concerned as quite a few reviews told of bent and out of place hinges, latches that were out of position and even wooden parts that were cracked and broken. After I ordered the item I was getting buyers remorse.When the product arrived, which was on the second day after ordering since I have a Prime membership, I found the Item to be in great conditionwith all hinges in correct alignment, all latches worked perfectly but one. The latch for the drawer seemed to be in position but when the drawer isopened, it drops down only about 1/4 inch and upon closing the drawer, it is slightly out of position with the latch and the drawer needs to be liftedup with your finger slightly to re-latch. I personally do not find this to be a problem.Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend this product to others. I am attaching photos of the item that I purchased.

This is a very nice, little, adjustable easel. Works great with a small canvas...I haven’t tried it with a large canvas, yet. This easel is convenient and easily transported. The storage area does not hold a lot of supplies, but it is nice to have built in storage to carry a few items. I am very happy with this item.

Returned cause it was broken. It’s been years and still not resolved

product is great for beginners. unfortunately the wood used is a poor quality and id imagine as the canvas gets bigger and heavier, this would not be hearty enough. mine came without a cardboard box, just the flimsy box the easel comes in and some of the hinges were unhinged and the box was beat up. nothing i couldnt fix and as i said, product is good enough but not very sturdy.
