VERSATILE!
Very Happy I bought this hedge trimmer!I decided upon unboxing this that I would wait a month before reviewing it to ensure it was everything that I had wanted... It was everything and more!My criteria was that I wanted a two-in-1 hedge trimmer so I could use it with or without the pole. I also want wanted a corded unit. Cordless would be easier, however the battery always gives out within a few years and backup batteries are more expensive than they should be, & then not available after 5 ~ 10 years. My last corded Black & Decker hedge trimmer was just 17" - no pole - lasted over 15 years:-)This is the only hedge trimmer that met all of my criteria, plus it was a really great value!Since it does not have a heavy battery towards the back, when using on a pole the weight towards the front is a little bit more. Other reviews that complain about it being heavy may not be using the shoulder strap properly because you can balance it and use it fairly easily. With a lot of use however, you WILL build up your shoulder and forearm strength:-)) Take time to adjust the shoulder strap so it is properly balanced.Using the pole, the 5-position -20° /+ 60° is all the versatility you would really want. Until you actually use it, you don't realize that you would never use a 90° angle because you're always going to be standing away from the hedge. The minus 20° angle is great for cutting on a downsloping bank. The pole is adjustable in length so you're not limited to just full extension. It's very easy to switch out with using the pole or without, however for safety make sure you unplug before you make that switch!! Use the safety hook for the cord to keep it from pulling out when reaching. (NEEDLESS TO SAY, DO NOT USE THE ELECTRICAL CORD AS A TEATHER TO LEAN FORWARD!!)I was originally concerned about the plastic housing, however it seems very durable, & helps with it being more lightweight. The blades are very sharp and given nice clean cut on leaves. This trimmer is powerful enough, and because it is electric is not very noisy. I choose to not wear hearing protection when using this so I can be aware of other sounds around me for safety reasons. The cut says it will handle a .7 (3/4") branch. I would probably use loppers for something that big, although nothing I tried to cut through made it bog down at all.It comes with a two-year limited warranty. If you don't handle it in a stupid manner, it seems like it will last a long time. For the value, I would buy consider buying a second unit just as a backup. The reason I'm not going to is because these items tend to become better, more efficient, and less expensive as time goes on. I WILL definitely follow this follow this company though!!DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!I will try to follow up with pictures of my hedges:-)

Why did I not buy one of these before? Great hedge trimmer
The media could not be loaded. We bought this electric hedge trimmer to trim up multiple, massive 8- to 9- foot shrubs in front of our house. Using clippers or a battery operated regular size hedge trimmer was exhausting, I also could not easily reach the top of my large shrubs without getting on a ladder or leaning over my bannisters to get to the tops. I also would have to change out batteries several times in order to finish up the job.I cannot say enough positive things about this brand of electric hedge trimmers. 1) It was super easy to assemble and use straight out of the box. 2) There are no more batteries to buy, charge up, or go dead before you finish up the job. 3) I love that you quickly adjust or change the angle of the blade. 4) I no longer need to stand on a ladder, so it is much safer for me to trim up my hedges now. 5) The price point was great! 6) It is sturdy and well made. 7) It is much quicker to use; I guess that I cut my work time in half compared to using a smaller battery operated device. Like any manual labor, using this product is some work and your arms may tire easily. Stop and take a break as needed. Overall, I highly recommend this product and am very glad I purchased it.

Great Device
Works very well and a very clever design, switching quickly and easily between regular trimmer and extended. I purchased it to prune ilex shrubs that are 6 feet high and as deep as 6 or 7 feet. The cutter pruned the hedges like it was cutting through warm butter. Razor sharp!!! It takes a great deal of upper body strength to use it in the horizontal position when fully extended, but that's just physics. No gettin' 'round leverage! (an inefficient 3rd class lever to be exact) I found that if I used the top of the ladder as a fulcrum, it made it easier.

Good hedge trimmer at a good price
I needed a good trimmer with a long pole to reach the top of a tall hedge. Decided on a corded one because the old one's battery gave out. This one fills the bill. Seems rugged. Trims well. A bit top-heavy when the pole is at maximum extension, but still worked fine. I'm 81 but still managed to trim the tall hedge.

Nice unit, but no replacement parts available
I enjoyed this trimmer for 3 seasons, but then the blade just would not cut. I only used it in the Spring to trim our hedges (a moderate work load). I thought I would just buy a replacement blade, but the company does not sell one - no replacement parts! Shame because the rest of the unit looks like new! The blade was still plenty sharp, but the problem is that the two halves of the blade are now too far apart (large gap between them), and will no longer cut. I took the blade apart, and I think I can file down the spacers between the blade halves which should return it to the the proper gap. Worth a try - otherwise into the trash it goes!

Sharp tool
My husband trimmed so many bushes when this arrived. The packaging looked like it was possibly a do-over or returned item, but all the parts worked and no problems. Agreed with other reviews the extension pole makes the trimmer heavy, but it offers ease to get the taller and hard to reach areas. Very impressed.

Works
I needed to reach across tall, wide hedges, ordered this hoping for the best but expecting a toy. This clipper is great, and cuts like a boss. The cord is a bit comber some but better than buying batteries every year. Yes, it is heavy but it speaks to the quality and you are holding a set of clippers on the end of a 5 foot pole. Would recommend
