Works very well and keeps shape for years. So comfortable I forget they are on.

I had a pair of nice chrome pants clips for many years (probably 25!). I commute to work by bicycle and so I used them nearly every day. They did the job, but were always uncomfortable, putting pressure on the bony front part of my shin/ankle.Somehow I lost those pants clips, so I ordered these. I liked the idea of the reflective strip. Turns out that these are oval, rather than round like my old ones. As a result, they are much better contoured for my ankle. They are also not quite as tight as my old pair and so they have enough spring to hold my pants nice and secure, but don't bite into my leg as much. So all in all, they are far more comfortable than the clips they replaced.I really like these - and better than the old ones I had that these replaced! I wish I got them long ago.BTW - I ordered a pair of these that were never delivered - apparently lost in transit. So I requested a refund, which I got without any difficulty, and then re-ordered them, and the second time they came in just a few days.

I accidentally left my old pair of metal pantleg clips at a relative's house out of town, so I went shopping for replacements, at least until I could get the old ones back. I was thrilled to find these. It's been years since I've seen metal pantleg clips for sale anywhere, and I wasn't anxious to go back to hook-and-look fastened cloth straps.These straps feel very solid, hold very well and even have a bonus reflective applique. They have more heft to them than my old clips; I haven't weighed them, but they're heavy for what they are. The biggest problem is that these clips are *tight*. My ankles are about 10.5" in diameter in the area where I wear the clips, and the clips are tight enough to cause some discomfort. Not enough discomfort to prevent me from using them, but I'll definitely be happy to go back to my old clips when I get them back. A person with thicker ankles would likely find these clips too painful to use.

Finally got the pant clip. I tore my pants riding the other day.

Metal clips like these are the only way to go. I've tried others, such as stretchy velcro, but they are a pain to put on and they tend to slide down. And plastic clips are bad. They are brittle in the cold and they lose their springiness quickly. These store easily on the handlebars, go on without any hassle, and fit very snugly. They don't slide down. The reflective strip is a nice additional touch.

I really liked the reflective feature. But the product slid right down most pant legs making the product ineffective. Should make them in different sizes.

I burned two really good pair of work pants driving my motorcycle to work. These are easy to use, are metal instead of plastic, and will save me a lot of money and pants. I know you should wear riding pants, but my commute to work is short and I don't want to deal with riding pants for that short of a run. The reflective tape is a nice add on. I had a pair of these to ride my bicycle when I was young to keep the pant legs out of the chain. They appear to be identical except for the added reflective tape.

I would give it 5 stars except it's not for everyone. This is a piece of spring steel. You can't reshape it. It is thick enough and well made. you can open it to put it on and it will bounce back. If you are slender right above your ankle this is great! If you are a large person, forget about it. You cannot reshape it. I'm a 5' 10" and 170 pound man but I have to wear a women's watch because my wrists and ankles are slender and a big watch is like wearing an anchor. The circumference of this clip is 8 and 1/2" not counting the ears. It is 2 and 1/2" across and 3 and 1/4" the long way, again not counting the ears. The circumference of my leg above the ankle is 9" without pants or socks. So, when I push it on when dressed it stays put and is wonderful. You can measure your leg above the ankle by marking a thin strip of paper and using a ruler, if you don't have a cloth tape. If you are above 12" around or more, you can't live with it. The reflective tape is a bonus if it fits you.
