My son was diagnosed with guillan Barre syndrome. There's not much info out on this because not many people get this. Finally could understand this syndrome better after reading the book.

Great Book!As a nursing student, I found this book was extremely well detailed and very useful. Gives you the medical aspect and the patients point of view.

I bought this book because my wife suffered and is still recovering from Guillain-Barre syndrome. We wanted to Know more about it and read how other sufferers had coped and still coping with this illness. There are a few books on the subject and I read the review of many, more often than not this book was mentioned as a better more informative to the layman book than the rest. Not having read any of the others I can only say that this book was very good at explaining things in a way that you could easily understand. It also has a good number of stories from people who have been or still going through this illness. There is a lot of information on the internet about Guillain-Barre syndrome, but if you prefer a book I would say that this provide most of what is known in an easy to read form without trawling through a lot of sites staring at a screen. It helped us.

Guillain Barre is rare. 1 in 100,000 people worldwide get it annually.When my father came down with it, the local hospital had never seen a case of it before & mishandled it horribly - there was no malice; they just didn't know.This book was a godsend - I felt like I almost had a better understanding of what was happening than the doctors did. Easy to read, technical jargon explained, told not only from a physician's perspective, but a physician who has had GBS & recovered.Of all the books I've read on this topic, this is my first choice if you're trying to learn about GBS - gives you what you need to know clearly, quickly, and concisely.
