We bought the Toniebox Audio Player Starter Set with Playtime Puppy (Green) for our 4-year-old, and it has quickly become a household favorite! The concept is brilliant — a soft, durable audio player that kids can easily use on their own. No screens, no complicated buttons, just pop a Tonie character on top and the stories or songs start right away!What we love:Kid-friendly design: It’s super intuitive! Our child figured it out within minutes and loves switching between different Tonies independently.Durable and huggable: The box is soft and can handle a few drops and tumbles (which happens a lot in our house). Plus, the green color is vibrant and fun.Great sound quality: Surprisingly clear audio for a kids’ speaker! Not too loud, but easily heard even in a busy room.Playtime Puppy Tonie: The included Tonie has a nice selection of songs and stories. It’s a sweet way to start our Tonie collection.Portable & rechargeable: We take it on road trips, and the battery lasts for hours. No more worrying about screen time in the car!Things to consider:The Tonies can get pricey if you want to build a bigger library, but we think they’re worth it for the quality and how much our child enjoys them.It requires Wi-Fi for the initial setup of new Tonies, but after that, it works offline.Overall, the Toniebox has been an amazing addition to our home. It encourages imaginative play and independent listening without relying on screens. Highly recommend for kids 3 and up!

My kid loves this. It is easy to use. A little tricky to get the hang of force needed to hit the side to skip to next song or story. It is well made and easy to carry. I got it on sale and feel it was worth the money spent. The characters are kinda expensive but they are great ideas for family to get for gifts.

I purchased 2 of these- one for each little kid- and was nervous about having issues with setup based on some reviews. To my delight, the first one took 5 minutes to connect to WiFi and we were off to the races. I moved on to No. 2, and it was a no-go. I spent a full hour trying everything I could to get it to connect, and my other child was starting to get frustrated. Since there is no phone option for Tonies anymore, I submitted a help request, and within minutes received this reply. I am posting it here to save anyone else some time, because the tip to connect through the Tonies website- rather than through the App which I had used for Setup #1- did the trick, and we are good to go!!! Not sure if I will get the second one to connect to the app, but that doesn’t really matter to me. Christmas Morning was saved! Kids are loving them so far.—————————————————-Thanks for reaching out! First, let's reset your Toniebox to clear out any lingering issues. To do this, follow these steps:Place the Toniebox on the charging station (while connected to the power supply) and then turn them both upside down so the ears are pointing downwards.While the Toniebox is upside down, pinch both Toniebox ears simultaneously for about 10 seconds until you hear an audio tone.Turn the Toniebox back upright and remove the Toniebox from the charging station for a moment and then place it back on.Next, I would recommend attempting setup using my.tonies.com/setup on your smartphone or a computer instead of the mytonies app as we have seen some users have success setting up through the website when running into trouble with the mytonies app. If you would like detailed instructions on how to set up using my.tonies.com/setup, take a look at our support article here: How do I set up my Toniebox?If you are still unsuccessful with setting up your Toniebox, we can try using a mobile hotspot to get set up. Remember that the Toniebox only needs a WiFi connection when you are first getting set up and when downloading new Tonie content for the first time. After that, a WiFi connection is not necessary to use the Toniebox. In order to set up a WiFi connection via a mobile hotspot, you just need two devices: one to provide the hotspot and another to walk through the setup process on. You cannot provide the hotspot and go through the setup process on the same device. Once the hotspot is activated, follow through the same setup process using my.tonies.com/setup and make sure to choose the mobile hotspot WiFi when attempting to connect.
