Great regulator, but picture is wrong, and seller has failed to respond to questions or to fix it.
First, to be clear: the actual regulator is great - I would easily give 5 stars for this Marshall Excelsior MEGR-230-1618. It is built like a tank, cast and machined from powder-coated zinc alloy, as opposed to the cheap stamped regulators sold with most grills. So why 1 star? Because the picture is wrong, and the seller would not respond to a question about it. (I notice that I was not the only person to ask or be upset about this. The mismatch between title and picture, combined with poor and inadequate descriptive text, causes confusion.) If there is to be a picture, it must be of the item being sold; else why have the picture? Note: this comment also applies to another regulator of this genre sold by this seller: <https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00R6JH06K/> "MEGR-230-90 Low Pressure Reg Bulk 9: 00 [sic: should be 90°] Vent", which is the same regulator as this one, but without the ACME nut. [I have reported these listing problems to Amazon, but (presuming Amazon care about things like listing accuracy) apparently they are no more capable than I of getting the seller's attention.]So I'm providing pictures to address that problem. The first picture is of the MEGR-230-1618, which comes with an ACME nut on the input and a substantial right-angle vent (making the regulator suitable for horizontal mounting). To get that, I cropped the second picture, which shows this regulator with an output hose (3/8 MNTP to 3/8 female flare); that hose must be provided separately, giving flexibility on the hose length. The black plastic piece on top covers the fine output adjustment, shown in the third picture. Finally, the fourth picture shows the new assembly side-by-side with the old one, showing how much better this one is built. The performance and stability bear out that visual impression.

The one you should buy
This regulator has been around forever. No frills, no auto switch over.....NOTHING!!! It works all the time. Marshal is the regulator that is used on just about every home I've ever seen since the 1970's. Simple and works.
