This one has a BASE! Easier to hold…
The base makes all the difference! Love the shape of the NEAT, but my first two had no base so you had to hold it mid-glass. That can raise the temperature of the bourbon. These are a nice weight and well balanced. Love them!

Bought a second one for my husband after he broke the first one. He really likes the way his bourbon tastes in this glass. Would definitely buy again.

Works for Nosing, not so much for taste
The brim does put your nose at the correct position for nosing. The drinkability is a bit ackward, especially the last sip. The glass could also be a bit thicker as it seems to be on the thin side which creates a cheaper "filling" of the drink. Meaning, drinking from what feels like a cheap glass tends to mentally affect the taste.

Excellent ergonomic shape for easy and secure holding
The size and weight are designed for drinking whiskey neat. If you like on the rocks get something else. The shape is very comfortable to hold. Very pleased with the purchase.

Great nosing, sub-par sipping
Tl;dr - buy a Glencairn for most whiskeys and a rocks glass for high proof whiskeys.I love my Glencairn for sipping bourbons, but high proof whiskeys above 100 often have too much ethanol to enjoy the nosing experience and can affect the taste as well. I was looking for a glass with a wider top to allow the vapors to escape quicker. The nosing experience with the NEAT Elite glass is phenomenal! I can smell the 120+ proof bourbons without resting them in the glass first. Then, the problem sets in. When you go to sip the whiskey and the liquid moves over the hump near the top of the glass, it rushes into your mouth along with a ton of air causing a very awkward sip. This added air impacts taste and experience. Since drinking whiskey is more important than smelling it, I cannot recommend this glass. Also, it looks like a small fishbowl or vase, while allowing you to hold it well, would probably get laughs if handing it to friends. My advice for the high proof whiskeys is to buy a nice rocks glass instead.
